About me and my therapy practice

Do you need clarity about how to break restrictive cycles and patterns of behaviour or feelings? Do you feel these issues are preventing you from living your life to the full? Perhaps you are struggling to move forward after a significant loss such as bereavement, divorce, health problems? With my professional support, you can gain a deeper understanding of why these blocks are present. During our sessions, I can help you to find a path through these challenges to a place where growth, change and enhanced wellbeing are possible.

My approach to counselling is person-centred and integrative, I will work with you as an individual and tailor my approach according to your unique situation and difficulties.

I offer a professional, confidential service and believe that through the relationship we build in therapy, you can find a way of being that helps you to better manage the challenges that life presents.

I provide my clients with a calm and reflective space to explore their issues, without judgement, where they feel supported to make positive changes and take steps towards a more fulfilled life.

Practice description

"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself, just as I am, then I can change." Carl Rogers

In my practice, I offer both solution-focused brief therapy (usually a minimum of six sessions), to work on specific difficulties and also open-ended therapy, where we can work together in more depth. This flexibility is at the heart of my person-centred approach.

I am experienced in working with bereaved clients to help them live alongside their grief in a more manageable way and to find a path towards living a more meaningful life, while honouring the loss they have suffered.

I am also experienced in working with addiction issues and realise the importance of looking beyond the addiction, to the underlying pain the substance or behaviour is helping to soothe. I will work respectfully and sensitively to support you to manage your life and find a path though the challenges you are facing.

My practice is situated in a comfortable private room in Rottingdean, with excellent bus links and plenty of on-street parking.  I also work in Lewes and Brighton, but need advance notice to hire a room. I also work online and on the telephone.

We will work in collaboration with each other and explore solutions and coping strategies throughout your counselling journey for improved mental wellbeing.
