Committing to a regular and consistent time and place for our sessions is an important part of the work. That being said, if you need to cancel, I always try to offer replacement sessions either in person or online, although this is sometimes not possible.
About me and my therapy practice
Our sessions will work towards change. Change, no matter how much we want it, comes from the unknown, it brings newness and uncertainty. It requires support and can be both painful and deeply joyful. My job is to provide this support, to work with you, to help you know yourself better, to listen carefully and without judgement.
This space is safe and protected, free from judgement and expectations. I love what I do and welcome all fears, feelings, sensations, memories, thoughts, dreams, experiences, phobias. Whatever the difficulty, as our relationship develops, we can create structure around your suffering so it doesn't feel so boundless.
Therapy can be a means of exploring, a way of knowing yourself better or working towards certain goals. This could mean learning to set proper boundaries, questioning repeating patterns in relationships, learning to trust others, or getting in touch with parts of yourself that you've become estranged from.
Practice description
Therapy is often most healing when people can express themselves freely, be playful and creative. You may bring struggles defined in broad terms: anxiety, depression, relationship issues, we will form a singular relationship and will work together to better understand your mind. It helps to remain curious about yourself without being critical - curious about why things are the way they are and to take responsibility for what is within your control. Beyond that, committing to being here - showing up each week on time and engaged - even when it feels really hard makes such a difference and can lead to work that will change your life.
I offer a strong, real and trusting relationship. This is the most important part of my job. I work people for all kinds of reasons; depression, anxiety, relationship breakdown, self-esteem issues to name a few. The therapy room provides a calm and supportive space in which problems of the past and present can be thought about together.
My first session
Before our first session, we can speak on the phone so you can get a sense of what I'm like and ask me any questions you might have. I will also ask you some questions to get a general sense of what you would like from therapy and where you are in your life at the moment. This conversation is fifteen minutes and is free. If you would like to arrange speaking then please get in touch via email or text.
After speaking, our first session will be 50 minutes long, either in-person, online or on the phone. This is where the work will really begin. There will be space for you to lay out what is going on for you in greater detail. The pace and the content will be determined by you, the reasons you have come and how long you are planning to work with me for. At the end the first session you can go away and have a think about how it felt, if you decide not to continue with the work, I will not charge you.

Practice description
My practice is always developing. Communication creates meaning; telling a story and being listened to has the capacity to create deep internal changes. I want to hear your story and help you make sense of it.
Before my training, I worked with plants. There is, I believe, a deep kinship between gardening and psychotherapy. Both require a certain sensitivity to the signals and needs of living things, a tolerance for doubt and hope for cultivating the future. Gardens, like people, have a personality and a direction all of their own.
Learning is a cornerstone value in my practice. I am undertaking a further UKCP accredited MSc training. I also attend NSPA conferences, workshops and lectures. I am interested in the bridges between the fields of psychotherapy and neuroscience: how lots of new research is revealing truth in Freudian maps of the mind. I follow the BACP ethical guidelines in my work.
I am also interested in the intersection between psychedelics and psychotherapy as trials enter phase III. I am conducting qualitative research on the links between psychodynamic thought and methods for psychedelic integration therapy.
