About me and my therapy practice
Welcome
It can be difficult to navigate life's challenges on your own. Having confidential space for you to talk can be the first step towards making positive and lasting changes in your life.
I am a fully qualified therapist and counsellor, working in an integrative-relational way. This means that I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches to meet your unique needs.
I have extensive experience supporting clients with a wide range of concerns, including but not limited to loss, life transitions, traumatic experiences, identity, sexuality, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, dysfunctional family dynamics and work problems. Some clients have also come to counselling without specific concerns in mind, but rather with an underlying sense that something is not quite right.
Over the years, I have gained experience in various counselling settings and agencies, assisting clients from different backgrounds and age groups. I have worked on both long-term (open-ended therapy) and short-term (6-12 sessions) basis.
My experience has been further enriched by living and working in different countries in Europe and Latin America, which has broadened my social and cultural perspective. I approach my work with curiosity, openness, and cultural sensitivity.
Practice description
Therapy sessions take place in person or online. In-person sessions are held at one of two locations: Streatham Hill (SW2) or Battersea / Clapham Junction (SW11). I also see clients for walk-and-talk therapy in the natural setting of Tooting Bec Common (SW12).
I offer a supportive therapeutic relationship in which you can find safety and acceptance. Together we can create a reflective space where you will be able to explore what troubles you; where, all of your thoughts, feelings and experiences are welcome.
We might seek to better understand the relationship between past and present, your wishes, losses, hopes, and fears. In this way, we can work towards a happier, healthier way of being with yourself and others in the world.
My approach is collaborative, ensuring you have autonomy over the content and pace of the sessions.
In my practice, I work creatively when it may help to find new ways of expressing your experiences. This may include using tools such as a sand tray, stones or post cards.
My first session
During the initial consultation, which lasts 50 minutes, we will dedicate time to discuss your situation, your reasons for seeking counselling, and whether what I offer aligns with your needs.
The initial consultation is charged at £40.
For clients that are unable to afford my full fee, I have a limited number of low-cost counselling spaces available – please enquire if this applies to you.
