About me and my therapy practice
I specialise in working with anxiety, eating disorders and complex grief.
I work with all adults (18 & over).
I practice as an Integrative Counsellor. I work in person and online from comfortable, accessible rooms in Exeter. I offer telephone therapy and walk-and-talk sessions.
I appreciate that entering into therapy for the first time may feel daunting and takes courage. You will find me welcoming, approachable, calm and compassionate.
I provide a safe and caring environment for you to heal, grow, and delve into your thoughts and feelings. My goal is to assist you in moving in the direction you desire. Your well-being is my priority during our sessions.
When we come together, I don't see a problem, a challenge, or a label; I see a unique person. My goal is to establish a sense of security so you can freely share your thoughts and emotions. I specialise in attentively listening to both spoken and unspoken words. By engaging in conversations and delving deeper, I assist you in enhancing self-awareness.
I am passionate about the human experience and connecting with others. Establishing a solid foundation of trust in the therapeutic relationship is my main focus. I provide a safe, open and non-judgmental environment for you to delve into your feelings. Our conversations will remain private, and I will truly listen to you.
Sometimes support is necessary to discover alternative ways of existing and dealing with the challenges that life presents. Whether you want to work on understanding yourself and your relationships better, or have a clear focus of where you need support, I can help you progress through challenges within a safe and confidential environment. Please do ask me any questions that you need to.
I believe that with the right support, anyone can transform their perspective on their situation, discovering acceptance, clarity, and optimism for the future.
Practice description
I believe therapy is a collaboration, meeting with each person as a whole, encompassing your emotions, thoughts, beliefs, family dynamics, and life circumstances. If you're facing a particular challenge or looking to enhance your self-awareness and relationships, I'm here to help you create positive, long-lasting changes for a healthier and happier life.
I work as an integrative counsellor, which means I carefully utilise different methods of therapy to assist you depending on and adapting to your individual needs. I am also trained to work creatively, helping you to explore and externalise the complexities of life. We can collaborate to create a structure for our sessions or work together in exploration.
Your personal needs come first, and your well-being is my priority. I approach our sessions with empathy and understanding. Through our work together I will help you towards discovering your own insights in a supportive and unbiased manner to gain a deeper understanding of your emotions and a clearer direction for your future.
My special interests include but are not limited to, working with complex loss and traumatic grief, and eating disorders.
Eating disorders can present themselves in various forms and behaviours. I offer a safe space for you to talk about your feelings and challenges related to food and body image. Together we can gently work on developing coping strategies and building a healthier relationship with food. My goal is to help you feel empowered and supported as you navigate your journey towards recovery.
I have an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling, a Post Qualifying Diploma in Eating Disorders and a Diploma in Creative Arts Therapies. I also have training and experience in supporting clients who are experiencing complex grief and/or traumatic loss.
I have experience of working with individuals with autism.
My first session
Our first session together is an opportunity for you to experience therapy. I provide a complimentary 20-minute phone consultation to determine if we are a good fit to work together. Please do ask me any questions that you need to.
When you're ready to move forward, our first counselling session will allow you to delve deeper into the reasons for seeking counselling, and we will move forward at a pace comfortable for you.
Don't hesitate to contact me for support. I aim to improve your understanding and consciousness, enabling you to implement beneficial changes and cultivate self-kindness.
