My practice hours are varied, I offer some weekends, evenings and day times sessions.
The best approach is to contact me as my practice is fluent and ever-changing due to the wonderful thing that is called life.
However, if we start working together, I believe in consistency so the slot you chose to have will stay with you for the time we will work together. Unless life happens...
About me and my therapy practice
Hi, welcome to your new page within the new chapter of your new life.
I assume that you are here because things are not how you would like them to be.
I work with clients who are impacted by grief, loss and long term health issues in charities in Liverpool. I also have a private practice where I have worked with people who suffered mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, bereavement, relationship issues, stress, trauma and work related issues.
Perhaps you are struggling with low self esteem, perhaps you have reached a point in your life where nothing makes sense anymore? Perhaps you are just lost and have had enough of suffering...
What if this life could be different? Better? More fulfilling? Less stressful and lonely? What if the time to change has finally arrived and you are ready? I feel that I can help you.
We can have a look together at your past to recognise the issues that you are experiencing and address behavioural patterns that you found unhelpful and even perhaps hindering your personal growth.
By exploring your world in depth we can address negative patterns, recognise what needs to change and find your mojo for life. I will work with you collaboratively to address what you think you need to address.
I will support you so you can find your voice, address your issues and let go of things that don't serve you.
Practice description
My practice is based working with clients either face to face or through online counselling.
I am fully qualified therapeutic counsellor, I gained my Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling at RASA (Rape and Sexual Support charity) where I have learned Rogerian person centred counselling. I have also gained a degree in psychology where I have attained understanding about cognitive processing and mental health issues.
I have a trauma informed practice due to my university degree and have experiences of supporting people with a range of difficulties, including people with neurodiversity, people who suffered loss and who are simply unhappy with their lives.
Whether you have medical diagnosis of mental health issue or whether you are just struggling with everyday life, we can explore those issues together to make sense of what is happening for you.
In your sessions, I will not judge you, I will not pity you, I will support you and I will challenge you to see a new healthier perspective on what have you experienced. I will listen to you and I will create a safe space that will feel non-threatening. We will gently explore your world.
Over the years I have worked as a Samaritan and also as an online mental health support counsellor for people who were in crisis or who experienced self harming or addictions and needed support.
I have worked with clients who felt overwhelmed, stressed out or who have suffered with low self esteem, anxieties and marital problems.
Overall, most clients find it helpful to talk through their experiences and to come to terms with their reality. I will be here for you, so you can explore those painful experiences that you may have had, safely and with the compassion and respect that you deserve.
I wish you all the best , I hope your new chapter in your new life will follow with a new, positive outlook on the place that we all share here.
My first session
Our initial chat includes exploring anything you are prepared to share with me about you. My first session costs the same as any other sessions, but I do offer consessions. I offer a free 15 minute chat to see if we can work together.
I may ask you a few questions about you, but the first point of reference in our therapeutical meeting is you and to explore your needs.
If you disclose that you are suffering a low mood, I may apply an assessment of your mental wellbeing and exploration of your own initial expectation. Only you are the person who can decide what troubles you and what you would like to change and improve through our counselling sessions.
The main objective for the first session would be to assess whether I am the right person for what you want to work on. Most of the first session is to explore what has brought you to therapy. The first session usually decides where to go next, it is essentially an introduction and getting to know each other to see if we are compatible.
It is crucial that you feel comfortable with me being your therapist, so feel free to ask as many questions as you need. This is your therapy, I always try to encourage people to trust their instincts.
If, by the end of the first session we both feel that we can work together, we will discuss your expectation. We will also have a look at how many sessions you may need based on the issue you want to address. Every client is individual and some clients feel better after six to twelve sessions, but some clients need to have a longer term therapy. We will not know that until we start working together.
The aim of counselling is to explore your feelings, find some solutions to your issues, and hopefully to improve your sense of wellbeing. Therapy works, it just needs to start.
I strongly advise to have a reflective practice every few sessions so we can gain an insight about your progress and to assess where you are with your goals and expectations.
