About me and my therapy practice

You might be seeking therapy to cope with the stressors of everyday life and relationships. Perhaps you’d like to talk to someone about painful experiences you have experienced, whether that’s recently or in your past. Maybe you’re not sure what you want to talk about in therapy, but you’re aware that things are feeling difficult at the moment. You may have noticed some patterns of thoughts or behaviours that you'd like to unpick. Whatever it is that brings you to my page, I’m glad you’re here.

Life is complicated and it can be difficult to manage sometimes. Seeking support is an act of kindness for yourself. In our sessions, we will work collaboratively to build a trusting therapeutic relationship. This will be the foundation through which we can explore the challenges you're facing and how they're impacting you. I offer a safe, non-judgemental space where we can explore your perspectives and emotions at length. I will seek to validate your experiences in hope to work toward understanding how you will move on from here.

I draw on a variety of therapeutic models to suit your intentions for therapy. I predominantly work drawing on Psychodynamic and Humanistic theories. Working in an integrative manner offers flexibility to adapt my style of counselling in relation to your needs. It's important that you feel comfortable and able to open to a potential therapist, hopefully you will be able to determine whether we are a good fit during a free 15 minute introductory call.

I'm a registered member of the BACP and align myself with their Ethical Framework. I'm an LGBTQIA+ ally with an awareness of societal barriers that have an impact on many, such as: race, gender, class, ability and ethnicity.

Sessions are available in Welsh. Rwy'n cynnig sesiynau yn Gymraeg, ymgynghorwch am galwad rhagarweiniol.

Practice description

Whatever your reasons for seeking therapy, I truly think that having a safe and non-judgmental space to talk can lead to a deeper awareness about who you are, how you are the way you are and where you would like to go next.

Every person and every session is different, it's not a one-size-fits-all approach. However, there are a few things that I keep consistent in sessions. You will set the pace of our sessions by deciding what to bring every week. I will be open and curious about your views and perspectives on the topics you bring, I'll ask questions and check-in every so often to make sure I'm fully understanding. I think it's important to find the right therapist for you therefore I don't expect my clients to commit to a given number of sessions. We can begin the sessions and have a review to consider what's working, what might be missing and how you'd like to go forward.

I encourage clients to schedule a 15-minute introductory call before committing to the first session. This gives you the opportunity to talk about my style of working before committing to sessions. The introductory call is free of charge.
