About me and my therapy practice
Life can be challenging, but reaching out for help is a strength. I provide a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space to help you to work through a specific challenge or explore your feelings and experiences. I work both long and short term and sessions can take place in the centre of Skipton or online.
My therapeutic approach puts relationships at the centre of our work. The relationship between me and you, your relationships with others (both past and present), and the relationship you have with yourself. By working together, we will explore your feelings and inner conflicts, enabling you to understand yourself more fully and move through life with a little more ease. I firmly believe you are the expert, with my role being to guide, hold space, and support you in this exploration.
Practice description
I am a fully qualified practitioner and member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) working within their ethical framework.
For face to face sessions I work from an accessible and welcoming space in central Skipton. I also offer online sessions. Please get in touch for current availability.
I have experience working with clients exploring a variety of challenges including stress, divorce, parenting, grief and loss, trauma, anxiety and depression, emotional and physical abuse. I have a special interest in neurodiversity and counselling for parent carers.
My first session
Research shows the most effective part of therapy is the relationship with your counsellor, making choosing the right person important. To help you decide if you'd like to work with me, I offer a free 15-minute initial consultation by phone or Zoom. We'll talk about what you are hoping to achieve in therapy and I'll be able to explain more about how I work.
