About me and my therapy practice
Welcome, I’m Carrie – Here to Support Your Healing
Healing from trauma and life’s challenges can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to go through it alone. I’m Carrie, a compassionate and experienced counsellor dedicated to helping you work through trauma, mental health concerns, relationship struggles, grief, burnout, and low self-esteem. Together, we can find a path toward greater resilience, balance, and self-empowerment.
With 20 years of experience in mental health settings, parent coaching, education, yoga, mindfulness, and emotional well-being, I take a holistic, trauma-informed approach to therapy. By blending person-centred counselling with embodiment techniques and deep healing practices, I help you reconnect with your body, release stored trauma, and foster lasting transformation.
Taking the first step toward healing can feel daunting, but you don’t have to do it alone. I provide a safe, supportive space where you can explore your emotions and experiences at your own pace.

My Approach to Trauma Healing
New research continues to highlight the vital connection between trauma, the mind, and the body. My counselling style is holistic and trauma-sensitive, ensuring that you are at the heart of the process. By integrating a person-centred approach with trauma-informed, somatic, and attachment-based techniques, I help you move beyond survival mode, release emotional burdens, and reconnect with your most authentic self.
I work with individuals and parents, guiding them toward emotional healing and deeper self-awareness. As a Parent Coach, I provide trauma-informed support to help you manage emotional and behavioural challenges in your child, including anxiety, fears, and anger. By equipping you with effective tools, I help you create a nurturing environment that fosters safety, healing, and connection for both you and your child.
My first session
Your First Step Toward Healing
Our journey together begins with a relaxed and open conversation. During our first session, we’ll review a contract and health form, helping us clarify your goals and focus areas. I also offer a review session after approximately six weeks to ensure you feel supported in your progress. Regular check-ins throughout our work together will help us stay aligned with your healing journey.
If you’re unsure whether counselling is right for you, I offer a free 15-minute introductory call to discuss your options and answer any questions you may have.

About me and my therapy practice
Carrie Meadows Counsellor & Parenting Coach
Helping Parents Navigate Challenges with Confidence & Support
Parenting is one of the most rewarding yet challenging roles in life—one that comes without a handbook. As a counsellor and parenting coach, I’m here to provide the guidance, support, and practical tools you need to navigate this journey with clarity and confidence.
With years of experience working with young people—and as a parent myself—I understand the emotional ups and downs that come with raising children. Many parents feel overwhelmed, isolated, or caught in what I call "the silent struggle." You don’t have to figure it all out alone.
Whether you're facing everyday parenting hurdles or deeper emotional challenges, I’m here to help. Together, we can create a path forward that feels right for you and your family. Let’s turn the stress into strength and bring more ease into your parenting journey.
Practice description
Compassionate Parenting Support & Connection
I guide parents using the internationally recognized Hand in Hand Parenting approach, a proven system that has supported families worldwide for over 30 years. My work focuses on strengthening family bonds through connection, offering a set of five practical tools designed to help parents listen, understand emotions, and feel supported in their parenting journey.
What to Expect in Our Sessions
Parenting can be deeply rewarding, yet it also comes with challenges. In our sessions, we’ll explore the root causes of the behaviors you’re experiencing and develop tailored strategies to help. I take a holistic, non-judgmental approach, beginning with a full history and offering specific tools to address your concerns.
Some common areas I support parents with include:
✅ Challenging behaviors that feel difficult to manage
✅ Parental overwhelm, guilt, or burnout
✅ Difficult or traumatic birth experiences
✅ Bonding challenges—feeling disconnected from your child or yourself
Together, we’ll identify which Hand in Hand Parenting tools will work best for your family, getting to the root of the struggles and creating practical steps forward.
Courses & Group Support
I also offer small-group courses where parents can work through the Hand in Hand Parenting Foundation Course, gaining skills, confidence, and community support.
My Experience & Approach
With over 20 years of experience in education, yoga, mindfulness, emotional well-being, and mental health, I bring a holistic, trauma-informed perspective to my work. My approach blends person-centered counseling, embodiment practices, and trauma-healing techniques to help parents reconnect mind and body for deeper healing.
Parenting with connection changes everything. Let’s work together to bring more understanding, ease, and joy into your family life.
My first session
During the first session, we will review a contract and a full history. I will offer specific tools to address your concerns. We will then have an option to meet weekly to discuss the progress and challenges that unfold.
I also offer a 15-minute call to new clients who would like to chat about counselling options on request
