About me and my therapy practice
As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I provide an integrative approach to couinselling, utilising a range of techniques to tailor treatment to the unique needs of each individual. My practice combines elements of psychodynamic and humanistic modalities, with a strong emphasis on building a strong relationship with my clients. This counselling relationship offers a supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and emotions. Many individuals grapple with deep-seated emotions such as shame, fear, or confusion, or find themselves in repetitive, unhealthy relationship patterns. By exploring your unconscious—what lies outside our everyday awareness— and reflecting on both past and present relationships, you can gain valuable insights that may help you better understand and navigate your current challenges.
Practice description
I have had the opportunity to work with clients from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds, addressing a broad range of issues, including relationship challenges, workplace-related stress, anxiety and depression, childhood trauma, issues related to gender and sexual identity, and cultural and racial identity concerns.
My experience extends to working extensively with LGBTQIA+ clients and individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. Whether you have a specific issue you wish to address or are uncertain about the root cause of your distress, a sincere and open counselling relationship can be crucial in helping you find clarity and direction.
My first session
Contact me to arrange an initial assessment. In our first session, we can discuss why you’re seeking counselling and what you hope to achieve through our work together. The first session also allows you to ask any questions you may have about my approach or counselling in general.
Each session, starting with the initial one, lasts 50 minutes and will be scheduled for the same time and day each week.
The length of counselling is different for everyone—some individuals find that a few weeks of sessions are enough, while others may choose to continue counselling for several months or even years. We can work together to determine the frequency and duration of your counselling, establish a contract, and decide on a suitable time to review our progress and the outcomes of the counselling.
