About me and my therapy practice
As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I offer an integrative approach to counselling, which means I draw from multiple therapeutic methods to customise treatment for each individual. My practice blends aspects of psychodynamic and humanistic modalities, focusing on creating a strong therapeutic relationship that enables you to explore your thoughts and emotions. Many people carry deep-seated feelings such as shame, fear, or confusion, or find themselves in recurring, unhealthy relationship patterns. By delving into the unconscious mind and reflecting on both past and present relationships, you can gain valuable insights that can help you better understand your current challenges.
Practice description
I have worked with clients from various cultural backgrounds and have experience in addressing a wide array of issues, including:
- Relationship difficulties
- Stress related to work
- Anxiety and depression
- Trauma from childhood
- Issues related to gender and sexual identity
- Cultural and racial identity concerns
My experience includes extensive work with LGBTQIA+ individuals and clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. Whether you have a specific concern or feel uncertain about the source of your distress, I believe that an open and genuine therapeutic relationship can be instrumental in helping you find clarity and direction.
My first session
Reach out to schedule an initial assessment. This first session serves as a chance for us to explore the reasons you’re seeking counselling and your goals for our work together. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about my approach or about counselling in general.
Each session, including the initial one, is 50 minutes long and will take place at the same time and on the same day each week.
The duration of counselling varies from person to person—some clients find a few weeks of sessions sufficient, while others continue for several months or even years. We can collaboratively discuss the frequency and duration of your counselling, establish a contract, and agree on a time to review our progress and the effectiveness of the work.
