About me and my therapy practice

I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (Reg. MBACP) and work with adults (18+). I was trained at Northern Guild for Counselling and Psychotherapy and have a Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. I have several years of experience working with NHS General Practice.

I am a person centred, integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, therefore I create a tailored and flexible approach to counselling using a range of techniques and interventions, adapting to meet the unique needs of each client.

I recognise the holistic well-being of the client, considering biological, physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual factors that may influence mental health.

I can support you with stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, low mood, depression, loneliness, trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, loss - including redundancy, retirement and adjustment to changes of health.

Practice description

I provide a confidential, non-judgemental and compassionate space and will work collaboratively with you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

The space is nondirective so you can bring to sessions whatever feels most important to you, whether that be a difficulty in the present or something unresolved from the past. In addition to focussing on the here and now, exploring past relationships and experiences can be a useful part of the work. The awareness gained from this process can support you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and achieve the outcomes you desire.

I can offer short or long-term work in-person in Newcastle upon Tyne, and online. Session duration is 50 minutes.

My first session

In our first session, I will gather background information to understand more about your needs, concerns and what has brought you to therapy. I will share how I can help and there will be an opportunity for you to ask any questions about the therapy process. We can then decide if we would like to continue with further sessions. If so, together, we will plan and agree next steps to work towards your therapy goal.
