About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Jen – it’s lovely to meet you!
Over the years, I’ve been a client in therapy myself. Some of those experiences were wonderful, and some were more challenging, but each one taught me something important. They helped me grow, and I want to share that opportunity for growth with others.
Talking therapy gave me the chance to pause, reflect, and understand things in my life that I might have ignored otherwise. That’s why I became a counsellor – to give others the space to think, reflect, and be kind to themselves.
Counselling is about you. It’s a way to move past anything that might be holding you back from living the life you want. Together, we can explore your current situation and look at any past experiences that are affecting you now. Talking can help you understand yourself better and gain insight into your feelings and challenges.
I provide a safe and welcoming space where you won’t be judged. Here, you can reflect on your life and learn to be kinder to yourself. We’ll work together, and you’ll always be in control of your journey. The goal is to build a trusting relationship where you feel comfortable sharing whatever is on your mind.
Everyone’s challenges and feelings are unique, so I’ll tailor my approach to suit you and your goals. Whether you want to feel less stressed, develop better coping strategies, or just understand yourself better, we’ll work towards what matters most to you. My aim is to help you reduce emotional pain and move towards a brighter, more fulfilling future.
We’ll also check in regularly to make sure counselling is still meeting your needs and reflect on the progress you’ve made. This journey is about you, and I’m here to support you every step of the way.
Practice description
Starting counseling can feel overwhelming or even a bit scary, and that’s completely normal.
I provide a private and supportive space where you can talk about the challenges you’re facing, at a pace that feels comfortable for you. You’re in control, and there’s no rush.
You don’t need to have everything figured out to start counseling. If you’re not sure about your goals or can’t quite put your concerns into words but feel like you need some space to think and reflect, that’s okay—just reach out.
Counseling is a flexible process, and your goals might change along the way. Sometimes, clarity comes as we talk and work through things together.
My first session
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We’ll explore your reasons for considering counseling and what you’d like to get out of it. You can ask any questions you have or share any concerns about how counseling works—I’m here to help.
After this session, you can decide if you’d like to book more sessions or take some time to reflect on your experience before moving forward. There’s no pressure, and it’s entirely up to you.
