About me and my therapy practice
My name is Louise and I offer one-to-one online and face to face counselling for adults in a warm and supportive environment.
With my experience as both a teacher and solicitor, I have a deep understanding of the unique stresses and burnout risks within the workplace. This background equips me to help lawyers and other professionals navigate these challenges effectively. Together, we can develop strategies to manage the intense pressures commonly faced in such demanding environments.
Additionally, I offer support for parenting challenges, addressing feelings of isolation and frustration that can accompany the arrival of a new family member. I have a special interest in helping women who are pregnant or struggling in the post-natal period.
With experience working in a hospice, I am well-prepared to support individuals affected by bereavement, helping them navigate their grief and gently work towards finding a new normal.

About me and my therapy practice
Struggling with feelings of grief or loss? Whether it's loss of a loved one, a relationship or major life change, you're not alone. Life can bring unexpected challenges, and one of the toughest is navigating the pain that comes with loss. Do you find yourself wondering how is everyone else able to carry with their lives when yours has fallen apart, or why you feel so anxious all the time? Maybe you are waking in the night, or struggling to get to sleep, with that constant ache, or replaying the ‘what ifs…?’.
Grief is very personal, and everyone experiences it differently. Sometimes we put on a mask for the outside world, because we fear it will make people uncomfortable to talk about our loss, or might upset them. Or it might be that the pain is too much to bear and we need to find a way to numb this pain until we are ready to face it.
Therapy can help you by:
· Giving you a safe, non-judgemental space to talk about what you’re experiencing - whether that’s sadness, anger, guilt or anxiety helping you feel understood and less isolated during this difficult time.
· Helping to break the cycle of overthinking by creating a space to process the "what ifs" so you can start to focus on what’s within your control now.
· Looking at who you are after a loss or major life change, so you can start to rebuild a sense of meaning, identity, and hope after loss.
Since working as a therapist, and also from personal experience, I’ve seen how helpful it can be to have the opportunity to talk to someone when you are coping with the loss of a loved one. During the pandemic I volunteered for Cruse Bereavement and saw how many people were struggling with grief or loneliness, made all the more painful at times by not having the chance to say goodbye, or not being able to honour their loved one with a funeral or ceremony they would have wanted.
With over five years of working with grief and loss, including in a hospice setting, I have supported dozens of people, and I’d love to help you too.
Practice description
Before retraining as a therapist, I worked as a solicitor helping asylum-seekers to be allowed to remain in the UK. I saw the devastating consequences of living in fear, being separated from family, and having to build a new life in a place that was not always welcoming. I saw the struggles and the loneliness they faced, without a supportive person to talk to.
Having a safe and non-judgemental space in difficult and painful times can help people feel less alone and help them to see a way forward.
So please reach out so we can arrange an introductory call, where we can explore whether working together feels like the right fit. I’d love to hear from you.
I offer online and in-person sessions - my in-person sessions take place at Amber Health Clinic in Baldock.
I’m a fully qualified and registered counsellor with the BACP.
