About me and my therapy practice

Every one of us can feel overwhelmed, helpless or stuck at different stages of our lives, and for many different reasons; sometimes for reasons we are not able to pinpoint or make sense of ourselves. Maybe day to day life has become too much for you, you feel lost and unsure of who you are anymore. Many things throughout life can cause us distress and make us question how we move forward; loss, bereavement, relationship break down, stress. Maybe you don’t know where to start in taking a step forward or getting out of the pit that you feel like you have found yourself in. As a fully trained person-centred Counsellor I can help you to take that step. I aim to be someone who will sit with you in your pain and hurt and come alongside you in beginning to make sense of it. With compassion I will work with you, at your pace, without judgement. I am not here to advise you, but with empathy I will work hard to help you to reconnect with yourself, to empower you to challenge what has been causing your pain and to help guide you in finding the right path for you in which to move forward.

Practice description

I am a qualified Counsellor and registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice and have regular supervision alongside continuing to develop my skills and knowledge through further training and courses as part of my CPD. Alongside my private practice I also work part time as a Counsellor at the Meridian Centre in Birmingham, a non-profit community interest company (CIC).

My first session

After your initial contact I will aim to make contact with you within 48 hours. If you would like a 15 minute phone call to discuss any concerns before booking in I am able to offer that, otherwise we can conduct an initial session of 50 minutes where we can both assess if we are comfortable to move forward with weekly sessions. I offer weekly, 50 minute sessions and work in an open ended way, meaning there is no limit as to how many sessions you can have. We will have regular reviews to ensure you are happy and comfortable with our work together.
