About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome to my space!
If you are reading this, it is likely that you have some concerns that you want to explore.
I appreciate that you may find talking about personal difficulties hard. Taking the step to book your first appointment can be an issue in itself. My aim is to offer you a space to feel safe and heard; a warm, confidential, and non-judgmental environment in which to speak freely and explore what’s happening and what’s possible. I am approachable, understanding, empathetic, and I listen.
My training is in Humanistic Integrative Counselling. I have experience in working with emotional and mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, panic attacks, trauma, self-esteem, feelings of being stuck, and recurring issues presenting in relationships.
I believe that counselling can enhance awareness of self and others, where each person can become better able to see themselves clearly through reflection. Understanding internal drives fosters a healthier relationship with yourself and with others. Therapeutic work, supported by a qualified and impartial professional, provides a viable space for you to explore and unpack areas of your life that need attention.
My interests align with all aspects of wellness, and I have specific interests in diversity. I believe in equality, and making therapy/counselling accessible to all, including working with cultural and identity issues, neurodiversity, physical disabilities, as well as emotional and mental health issues. Do get in touch to discuss any reasonable adjustments that you may require.
Practice description
My therapeutic approach is integrative, rooted in humanistic and psychodynamic theories. I focus on the ‘whole’ person, how your experiences, have influenced your current situation. In recognising each individual's uniqueness, I adapt our work together to meet your specific needs and may draw on other modalities, such as person-centred and CBT, if this is relevant. As a registered BACP counsellor, I adhere to the BACP Code of Ethics.
Our continuing work together will be guided by your goals, at a pace that feels right for you, and I look forward to being part of your journey of self-exploration.
Sessions are available online or in person, either in Bloomsbury, London; or Barnet, Hertfordshire.
