Availability
I can offer flexible hours to both new and existing clients in my private practice. Clients' particular needs in relation to availability is something that we can discuss during our Introductory Session.
About me and my therapy practice
Practice description
I offer my clients a warm, welcoming, confidential and safe therapeutic space. For clients interested in psychology, I would describe my counselling approach as Person-Centred Approach very much informed by humanistic, existential, and phenomenological schools of philosophy. I am available for online, telephone, or face-to-face counselling.
My first session
I offer a no-obligation introductory session to offer you the opportunity to talk to me about the issue(s) you are experiencing. This will also be an opportunity to ask me any questions that you may have about my private counselling practice. This free introductory session also helps me to assess whether your particular issue falls within my area of expertise.
Occasionally, some clients have specific issues that would be better served by contacting a specialist service. I would let such clients know this and will do my best to signpost them towards an organisation that will be better placed to help them.
During the Introductory Session I will explain the choices available to you so that you make an informed decision whether you would like to continue working together. If you feel that, after this first contact, you would like for us to work together, we would we then arrange to book the next session. If, on the other hand, after the first session you would prefer to look elsewhere, then I will totally respect your decision. Person-Centred counselling is a relational process. I therefore attach a lot of importance to helping my clients feel relaxed, comfortable, and empowered when working with me. I hope this provides a useful explanation of the process of first contact and what happens in the Introductory Session.
