About me and my therapy practice

Hello, and a warm welcome to my profile.

If you're feeling confused or anxious, overwhelmed, stressed or a little lost right now, are finding it difficult to gain any clarity on your situation and feel you might benefit from some support to find your next steps forwards, I can help you.

Mental and emotional distress are incredibly common within the demands of modern life and are not signs that there is something inherently wrong with us - only that we are presently struggling to cope with everything on our own.

Each of us is utterly unique in the life we've so far lived and how that has then shaped us.  This means that each of us is equipped differently in terms of our resilience and resourcefulness in the face of life's challenges and difficulties.

Counselling provides the precious opportunity to begin to acknowledge and accept who we are and where we are - as a necessary foundation upon which we can then begin to make sense of our present experience, and find our next natural steps forward.

As your counsellor I'll provide a space in which the uniqueness of who you are is held with warmth and respect, my aspiration to create a safe, confidential space free of judgement and expectation in which you’ll feel supported to explore your present experience, gain increasing clarity on why things are as they are right now for you and how you then might step forwards towards increasing authenticity and fulfilment.

Practice description

Approaching counselling can feel like a big step - we might feel as if we should have all the answers ourself - and I absolutely get understand.  Yet we all experience times when life circumstances lead to increasing confusion and anxiety, overwhelm and stress in which we can struggle to gain any clarity on the best way forward for ourself.

If after reading this far you feel I might be on your wavelength then please consider getting in touch - 07902 594000 - to arrange a free 60min introductory session online or by telephone in which you can discuss your present needs and see if you would like to work with me.

I work nationally online via Zoom and in-person in the Brighton area.

I'm qualified to Diploma and Foundation degree levels in person-centred counselling and integrative approaches, am a Registered Member of the BACP, and continue to develop myself personally and professionally in respect of self-reflection, supervision, ongoing training workshops and am currently training in Integrative Psychotherapy.

My first session

After a free introductory session, where we find out if we’d like to work together and in which you have the opportunity to discuss your present needs, our first session would initially see us deciding upon a working agreement together, discussing your client confidentiality and other aspects of the therapeutic relationship we’re establishing.  I’ll also talk a little about how I work and of any  expectations and goals of counselling you might have at the start.
