About me and my therapy practice

I am an accredited counsellor offering individual and couples therapy in the west end of Edinburgh. I am passionate about helping individuals improve their well-being with care and understanding. My approach is with warmth and compassion, working together to identify, explore, and understand the roots of your challenges. Through this process, I will support you in coming to terms with who you are and guide you in transforming troubling emotions, thoughts and behaviours, leading to a happier and healthier state of mind. This can sometimes be difficult; I will make every effort to ensure you feel safe, supported and capable of change.

Practice description

Many adult difficulties—shame, depression, anxiety, mood swings, relationship issues, self-harm, obsessiveness, being overwhelmed—arise from a complex mix of nurture, nature, and fate. Early traumatic experiences like neglect, violence, abuse, bullying, and abandonment can leave lasting scars, leading to feelings of hopelessness in adulthood.

The changes that arise through our work will encourage the emergence and flourishing of emotional balance, clarity, resilience, self-acceptance, a sense of purpose and perspective. Contentment, and strong, healthy connections with others can pave the way for meaningful change and greater contentment in life.

My first session

I will help you to feel both comfortable and safe, and offer time and space to describe the issues troubling you. I will listen and ask gentle questions. My hope is that we will identify in each other the potential for a good working relationship.

Our first session will typically last one hour and will cost £15. If we choose to go forward, this cost will be deducted from the second session.
