About me and my therapy practice
Are you wondering why your relationships with friends, family and romantic partners feel so strained? Are you feeling stuck in life and burnt out? Do you feel like you’re a disappointment to your family, or feel as though you’re betraying them in some way? Or perhaps you are feeling suffocated by overbearing family members and their expectations, feeling unseen and unheard in their presence.
Imagine having improved relationships with your family whilst finding your voice. What would it feel like to have an increased sense of self-esteem so you could feel comfortable setting boundaries with your family and others. How would it feel to be living your true authentic life?
Practice description
I am an integrative psychotherapist working with children, teenagers and adults, specialising in intergenerational cultural trauma i.e. trauma passed down through family generations. “Integrative” means I use a variety of techniques and modalities to journey with you in therapy.
With my background in law, I have had over 15 years' experience working with vulnerable adults, teenagers and children, providing mental health support within criminal defence, housing and schools, as well as providing counselling services within schools and the charity sector. I am currently working as a secondary school therapist seeing students and staff, as well as working privately with adults, children and teenagers.
We will gently explore together how your past childhood and cultural experiences might have shaped your unconscious beliefs, feelings and patterns of behaviour.
Often we are unaware that our adult challenges arise not only from what happened to us in childhood, but also from what we didn't get growing up. I also use breath and body work as a means of connecting with yourself and your nervous system, which is an important element to healing. I am a believer in journeying with you and exploring your inner world at your pace.
Areas I specialise in include:
Depression and low mood
Anxiety
Low self-esteem
Identity
Romantic relationships
Cultural guilt and shame
Grief and bereavement
Trauma
Whether it be struggling to have healthy boundaries with your family, battling bouts of anxiety and depression or recognising that you feel a little lost and would like to work on general self-development, let's journey together on your path of loss, self-exploration and re-discovery.
I work out of three therapy practices and and also offer online sessions.
Finchley Central - adults and teenagers
Islington - adults and teenagers
Mill Hill - adults, teenagers and children
My fee is £75 for individual therapy and reflective parenting.
My fee is £85 for couple's therapy.
My first session
When I work with children or teenagers, the first session is always an assessment session with parents/caregivers, in order to take a complete history and to understand your child's experiences from your perspective.
With all clients, payment for the first session is always in advance of the session, following a 15-20 minute introductory call. If you would like to keep working with me after the first session, I ask for payment in advance on a monthly basis. In order to see any change, I recommend a minimum of between 3 and 6 months of therapy.
Types of therapy
Creative therapy, Family therapy, Humanistic, Integrative, Interpersonal, Narrative therapy, Person centred, Psychodynamic, Relational, Transactional analysis, Transpersonal
Clients I work with
Adults, Children, Couples, Families, Older adults, Young people
How I deliver therapy
Long term sessions, Long-term face-to-face work, Online therapy, Short term sessions, Short-term face-to-face work
