About me and my therapy practice

I offer specific experience for working with neurodiverse clients, complex relational trauma and chronic shame.

I work in an integrative, relational way, which means that my training has taught me a variety of approaches to psychotherapy; I focus on tailoring our work to meet your unique needs, in a secure, non-judgmental environment.

Many aspects of emotional distress can be reactions of past trauma and how we adapt to cope. Whilst seemingly useful, this response may limit our ability to exercise autonomy and making choices for the future.

I will support you in unravelling these experiences through a compassionate and empathetic viewpoint. I specialise in working with neurodiverse communities, people with complex emotional needs and those recovering from traumatic experiences.

I promote an anti-oppressive approach to therapy, and utilise supervision processes to raise awareness of my own potential bias, blind spots or gaps in knowledge. This supports the work and keeps both the client and myself safe. I am particularly keen to accommodate any further needs for people from the Global Majority, and those who may need reasonable adjustments under the 2010 Equality act.

Practice description

I work both remotely and in person, with two practices based in the city centre in Queensquare and Stokes Croft practice rooms.

Once you get in touch, this is an opportunity for you to get a feel of whether this is the right thing for you and whether we could work together.

In our initial session, I will outline what you can expect from therapy together, and invite you to bring any concerns or questions you may have.

If you decide you would like to work together, I would forward you our therapeutic contract, and we would arrange to typically meet weekly at the same time and contract an initial six sessions to start with.

Towards the end of the six sessions, we would review the work together, and should you wish to continue we would work out an agreement to keep it open-ended for however long you feel you need.

Each session is 50 minutes.

I work in a psychodynamic format, contracting to meet at the same time and same place every week.
