About me and my therapy practice

What are you looking for? To show up in your life authentically? To understand yourself on a deeper level? To move away from shame into acceptance? Maybe it isn't clear, yet. That's okay too. Starting therapy can feel like a big step. You might feel anxious and curious to see what might happen.

I want to understand how you encounter yourself, the people in your life, and the world around you.

Trying to exist right now can be overwhelming. It can feel hard to carve out the space to sit with big questions and feelings. Maybe it even feels scary to do so. I believe that people were not meant to navigate their difficulties on their own. We live in a time that prioritises the individual. As human beings, we are hard-wired for attachment to others. Who would you turn to for support in navigating your pain? This question is at the heart of my therapeutic approach.

“When our experiences are not seen through loving eyes, we begin to see ourselves through unloving eyes - eyes that deny, dismiss, minimise, and gaslight. We all need loving witnesses to our suffering.” - David Bedrick

In a society that emphasises quick fixes and immediacy, therapy can feel daunting. The messaging we consume bombards us with ways to try and avoid or eliminate difficult thoughts and feelings. Do you feel like you attempt to push things down but feel like they are spilling out? That you want to contain them, but can’t? You weren’t meant to do it alone. Contrary to popular narratives, healing isn't a linear trajectory but an ongoing, never-ending process—an eternal unfolding of understanding and adaptation. It's about navigating the nuanced shades of healing. What if we saw our symptoms as signals that something is out of alignment? That there is something that wants to be acknowledged. Together, we'll explore these symptoms as indicators from our body, mind, and spirit, propelling us towards clarity amid chaos.

Practice description

I am an integrative therapist who practices through a trauma-informed lens. I work with psychodynamic, existential and person-centred modalities. Would you want your therapist to ask more questions? To let you lead? Our relationship will be the foundation of our work together, so it is important to develop trust in the room together. Co-creating safety in the therapy room is fundamental. I will respect your pace and autonomy. We can identify roots of your challenges and find ways of moving forward. We can reflect, identify opportunities for healing, and make meaning based on your experiences in the world.

“This journey is not linear. There is no final destination of cured and healed. Healing is a never ending process. It is an eternal unfolding - an eternal unfolding of understanding. It is about navigating the nuanced shades of healing. Where progress isn't measured by erasing our pain but our capacity to engage with it constructively. To weave our traumas into the fabric of who we are without letting them define us.” - Mollie Adler

I will consider power dynamics that you may be navigating both inside and outside of the therapy room. In order to do this, I am always seeking ways to learn more about myself, and privilege. I believe in the importance of humility. My practice is rooted in the understanding that each person's journey is shaped by intersecting identities and experiences. I recognise the importance of honouring and acknowledging the diversity of human experience, our similarities and differences. I want to know you who you are, fully. I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming and anti-racist therapist.
