About me and my therapy practice

I can offer you a caring, warm, empathetic, and safe counselling space for you to explore any difficulties or issues you may face. I offer you acceptance and regard as a unique individual and seek to support you at every stage in the counselling process.  My focus is for you and with you.

I seek to build a genuine, trusting and secure relationship with you. Our trusting relationship will be key to the therapeutic process. During counselling, I do not give advice or tell you what to do,  'diagnose' or judge you. Instead, I offer you acceptance and I am led by you, at your own pace, to unpick any issue you face. I seek to support you to find your own path that is right for you.

My way of working is Person Centred, incorporating elements of Attachment Theory. I believe that we grow though our relationships with others. Our personal stories and relationships inform who we are, shaping the meaning in our lives and how we feel about the world around us. Making sense of our stories and relationships, increasing our self awareness and agency, and is key to the quality of our life. Helping us to learn who we really are and the change we want to see in our life. Given time, I believe that after working with me, you will have a better understanding of your story, who you really are, and have more self compassion. A stronger ability to define the change you want and make this change possible.

People often seek counselling to help them manage challenging life events, emotions, or to move on from damaging relationships. Sometimes people seek counselling due to historical issues impacting them here and now or from new challenges they face.

I welcome you to contact me to see if we can work together. If we decide to work together, we can explore any concerns you have. Please feel free to contact me to book an initial session and I can answer any questions you may have. I look forward to meeting you.

My first session

Our initial meeting, which can last up to 20 minutes, is to see if I am the right person to offer you support. This is a confidential, complementary meeting and without any obligation.  If we decide that we can work together, we can book our first session.

The first session we have together outlines how we will work together, for how long, and looks at what you would like to achieve from counselling all in more detail.

The first session usually last 60 minutes and is charged at the same rate as a standard session.
