About me and my therapy practice
About me
Welcome! I'm a psychodynamic counsellor offering online therapy to clients worldwide. Alongside my private practice, I work as a therapist at Relationships Scotland, the country's largest provider of counselling and family mediation.
Having lived and studied in different parts of the world, I bring a deep appreciation of diverse cultural perspectives to my work, enriching the therapeutic experience. This background allows me to offer culturally sensitive support to clients from various backgrounds.
I’m a fully qualified Psychotherapist and registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. This means that I work to the high standards of the BACP’s Ethical Framework
Who I Work With
Individual Counselling
I work with adults facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, loss, and relationship difficulties. I support clients through major life transitions, identity exploration, self-esteem issues, and personal growth. Additionally, I specialise in addressing relationship-related challenges such as breakups, divorce, infidelity recovery, and attachment patterns. Therapy provides a safe, non-judgmental space to explore and process your experiences while developing effective coping strategies for healing and growth. Together, we can work on understanding patterns, building resilience, and creating meaningful change in your life.
Couples Counselling
I work with couples at all stages of their relationship. I provide support through various challenges, including communication difficulties, loss of intimacy, trust issues, and life transitions. My approach helps couples understand their dynamics, rebuild connection, and develop stronger bonds. Whether you’re managing conflict, recovering from infidelity, adjusting to parenthood, navigating cultural differences, or seeking to deepen your relationship, I offer a balanced space where both partners can feel heard and understood.
Practice description
As a Glasgow-based psychodynamic counsellor offering global online services, I provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space for clients of any background. I emphasise empathy in my practice, helping individuals and couples explore deep-seated issues and achieve personal growth. Whether you're facing relationship challenges, personal transitions, or seeking deeper self-understanding, I am here to support your journey in a confidential and inclusive environment.
My approach focuses on the influence of past experiences on current behaviours and feelings, fostering insight and self-directed growth. Therapy is a personal exploration that respects your pace and the content you bring to each session, ensuring that you remain in control of our discussions.
Engaging in therapy invites patience and commitment, but it is a powerful tool for those ready to explore their minds and emotional patterns. I encourage you to trust this process as we work together towards meaningful change and a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships.
What keeps me grounded and effective in my work is my commitment to continuous growth. I regularly attend CPD training to stay current with the latest counselling approaches and participate in peer and dedicated supervision. This ensures I’m constantly reflecting, learning, and providing the best care for my clients. I believe that caring for myself is essential to being fully present for the people I support.
Qualifications
Diploma in Relationship Counselling (DIRC- Edinburgh Napier University) - Level 9 SCQF
Certificate in Counselling Skills
B.A Theology (Al-Azhar University)
M.A Philosophy (University of Glasgow)
My first session
Before our first session, we’ll have a quick phone call at no cost to you. This is a chance for us to connect, for you to share a little about what’s on your mind, and for me to answer any questions you might have. It’s important to me that you feel comfortable and reassured before we begin.
In our first session, we’ll take some time to explore what’s brought you to therapy, the challenges you’re facing, and what you’d like to achieve. If you’re unsure of your goals right now, that’s completely okay—we’ll work through it together.
We’ll also talk about what’s been helping (even in small ways) and what makes things harder. I may use a couple of simple tools to understand your mood or anxiety levels, which can help us track progress later. Above all, this session is about creating a warm, supportive space where you can feel safe to open up as we begin this journey.
