About me and my therapy practice

I see therapy as a safe place to gently explore and make more sense of our lives; where we can gain insight, challenge our beliefs, process our experiences and find better ways of being.

I have an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling and am a Registered Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I have also trained in Transpersonal Psychotherapy, Body Psychotherapy and ways of working with complex trauma.

I provide a safe, welcoming and non-judgmental space and a commitment to offer my full attention, compassion and curiosity.

As well as extensive therapeutic experience, I have many years experience of managing therapeutic and wellbeing services and I currently employed as the Service Manager of Iron Mill Counselling Service in Exeter.

Practice description

I will work you in a relational way, which means I will try and work in a way that feels right for you. I can adapt and use different approaches as appropriate for your needs. What we talk about is wholly your decision,  I won't force you to discuss anything you don't want to. I won't be shocked by what you say and I understand how difficult it can sometimes be to say it out loud.

I’ve learned a lot about how to support people living with chronic pain and health conditions; I also have particular experience and skills in working with loss and bereavement, issues from childhood, including sexual abuse , neglect and attachment. I can also help with more recent traumas and events of any kind, and the impacts associated with these, such as, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, nightmares, flashbacks, fear and avoidance.

My first session

Starting therapy can feel like a big step so please get in touch for a free consultation where we can talk things through and decide whether we would like to work together.  If I don't think I'm the right person for you then I'll signpost you to someone who is.

Thereafter, sessions cost £50.00. I do feel that everyone should be able to access professional therapy, and so I do offer a limited number of reduced-rate spaces.

Sessions are usually for one hour and once weekly, but I will do my best to be flexible in meeting your requirements.
