About me and my therapy practice
As a therapeutic counsellor, my focus is solely on you as an individual. By providing you with a safe space, somewhere you will feel listened to, heard and understood without fear of judgement or reprimand .
I understand that without warning and at any age, life events can cause us to feel unhappy and overwhelmed. This can start to have a negative impact on our everyday wellbeing and enjoyment of life. It may affect our mood, energy levels, eating/sleeping patterns, work, and relationships.
Feelings of anxiety and panic can start to control and limit us on living the life we imagined. There may be painful events from the past we thought we could tuck away and cope with, but still prevent us from living in the present. Reaching out for support can not only be one of the biggest and sometimes bravest steps you ever take, but also the most important one.
Practice description
My room provides you with a safe and confidential space, where hopefully you will feel settled and comfortable.
I will sit with you, ensuring you are safe as you identify the things that have led you to reaching out for support. Together we will explore further into your thoughts and feelings around any issues that are brought to light, all the while moving at your pace, there is no rush, no right or wrong way, only your way.
My first session
I am an eclectic counsellor which means I work with a number of approaches: Person Centred, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Transactional Analysis and Psycho-dynamic.
Together we will work in a way that is right for you and enables you to bring about the changes you desire. Free to enjoy a happier and more fulfilling life.
In our first session we will cover the contract of our work together, and there may be a brief assessment. This will enable me to ensure that I am able to help you. This also allows you a chance to get a feel for your surroundings and importantly, whether you think I am right for you as a counsellor.
There is no obligation, but if you are comfortable and happy to continue there will be an opportunity for you to talk about your concerns.
