About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I'm Stuart and I'm a humanistic, person- centered psychotherapist having trained at the Northern Guild Psychotherapy and Counselling.

Life brings people to therapy for various reasons. Whatever it is in your life that needs tending to, I see my role as helping you to reconnect with your true nature. This can bring a sense of wholeness rather than needing to 'cure' or 'fix' a part of yourself.

My personal philosophy is 'Connection over Correction' and my approach places you- the individual at the heart of your therapy.

I have been told that I am warm and curious with a grounding presence. When working with me, you can expect to find a safe space for reflection, discussion and opportunity for change.

'We are not what happened to us, We are what we wish to become' - Carl Jung

Practice description

Psychotherapy involves weekly sessions at the same time. Sessions will be tailored to your individual needs, focusing on what you came to achieve. This will involve an agreement at the beginning of therapy between us and sessions will last until you feel like you have got what you need.

I currently offer in person sessions at a private practice in Morpeth, Northumberland.

Online sessions are also available on request.

My first session

Our initial session will involve a 10- 15-minute conversation where I can answer any questions that you may have about; the type of therapy I can offer, what to expect and what your hopes are for therapy. It also provides a rich opportunity to get a feel for what it would be like to work together. If at the end of our conversation you decide that you would like to work together, a full first session will be available directly following. This will involve an assessment of your personal needs and what may have led you to therapy. However, there is no pressure, and you are welcome to go away and think about your decision.

Enquiries can also be made via telephone, text message or email.
