About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Jane, a person centred counsellor and cognitive behavioural practitioner based in West Lancashire. I currently work remotely with adults across the U.K.
I work daily with people facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, low self esteem, stress, trauma, family issues, work and relationship difficulties and those navigating major life changes (such as becoming a carer or going through a separation, divorce or bereavement).
I have worked, for a number of years, with a diverse client base in various settings including a local women’s centre.
I now work in private practice and also deliver a six month, twice weekly trauma informed programme, supporting parents to improve their mental health and build emotional resilience. I also have a wealth of personal and professional experience outside counselling, which I feel adds value to what I am able to bring to my practice.
Clients experience me as being an intuitive, genuine and kind therapist who strives to really understands them and cares for them in an empathetic and supportive way. I help my clients to make changes in their lives, find alternative ways to look at situations and difficulties , strengthen their self worth and work through problems to instigate positive change.
My hope is that you will leave me with a stronger sense of what you want out of life, who you are and with the confidence to go and get it. To feel like the life you're leading is the one you have chosen (rather than one that has happened to you or been chosen for you by others).
To see your own resilience, with the ability to ask for help and support when you need it.
The values that I live and work by are respect, trust, honesty, integrity, authenticity, care and commitment.
My current qualifications are listed

Practice description
Building a strong therapeutic relationship with the clients I work with is at the very heart of my practice.
From my own personal experience, I understand how difficult it can be to reach out when help is needed.
I have considerable lived experience of neurodivergence, and I have a special interest in working with neurodivergent clients , clients who have neurodivergent family members.
I also specialise in working with clients experiencing significant anxiety. This is close to my heart.
I provide a warm and friendly space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings safely and without judgement. I can also work within the cognitive behavioural therapy model to provide evidence based strategies and interventions, to help you to manage a number of mental health conditions (including anxiety, depression and phobias), solve problems in your life and set and achieve personal goals.
