About me and my therapy practice
I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist with over 35 years experience working in the caring professions including 15 years experience working as a counsellor/therapist.
I am based in South Acton, a 5 minute walk from South Acton Overground Station.
I prefer to work in person and tend to only work online when circumstances dictate.
I work both short and long term with adults of all ages and backgrounds.
Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming. Research shows that the most important factor for successful work is the therapeutic relationship between the 2 of us. With this in mind I offer an initial free 30 minute consultation for us both to get a sense of whether working together feels right.
During the initial consultation I will go over our contract should we agree to work together. This covers issues such as payment, cancellation period and confidentiality.
I work from home in a calm, comfortable, airy and light consulting room. I believe in the importance of providing an excellent environment for us to work together in.
I am normally able to respond to any enquiries via email or phone within 24 hours.
Practice description
Qualifications.
Foundation Course in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling : 2006, The Minster Centre.
Diploma in Integrative Counselling : 2009, The Minster Centre.

Prior to training as a therapist I worked in social care as a Social Worker and in the voluntary sector.
My therapeutic training took place at The Minster Centre, one of the UK's leading psychotherapy training institutions.
As a Integrative therapist I have trained in a variety of different approaches which has given me different techniques and tools when working with you. Humans are highly complex beings and, therefore, no one particular approach will work with everyone.
I have worked with a wide range of adults from many different backgrounds (age, ethnicity, culture, gender, sexuality, disability). I have a strong belief in the need to be aware of diversity issues and the affect that discrimination has on us.
