About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I'm Rozan, an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor supporting your life transition journey towards emotional well-being and personal growth. With empathetic understanding, I can sense what you need if you are dealing with depressive and anxiety symptoms; feeling worried and lonely after moving to a new place; having difficulty in dealing with traumatic experiences related to your childhood or adverse life events; having concerns about low self-esteem and self-worth.

I am here to provide you a safe and non-judgmental space to explore your inner feelings and thoughts. I integrate talking and non-verbal therapy in the session subject to your needs. As I know, some people need verbal expression, and some prefer non-verbal expression. My approach is based on the core values of person-centered therapy. I firmly believe in the positive nature of human beings. No matter what condition we are in or what problems we face, we will always strive to do the best for ourselves. Also, I believe you are the only expert on your own inner world and the only person who truly understands how you feel. I am here together with you on this healing journey.

I view counseling as a collaborative process of working with you to develop an insightful mindset about who you are and how to make meaning from your experience. My counseling style is to provide a safe, warm, open and non-judgmental space to you express your thoughts and emotions so that it will bring you to focus on inner healing, explore identity, and develop coping skills to manage life’s stressors.

My modality is based on person-centered humanistic approach, integrated with different techniques such as mindfulness, expressive art, sound healing, relaxation techniques, cognitive behaviour therapy. I specialize in helping people who struggle with anxiety, trauma, stress, significant life transition and low self-esteem.

Practice description

If you are ...

  • dealing with depressive and anxiety symptoms, including persistent sadness, low motivation, and loss of interest in daily activities
  • facing cross cultural couple relationship challenges,
  • feeling difficulty in adapting to new environment
  • having difficulty in dealing with traumatic experience related to your childhood or adverse life events
  • having concerns about low self-esteem, self-worth, or body image
  • experiencing difficulties with anger management or impulse control
  • facing major life transitions, such as divorce, retirement, or career changes
  • looking to enhance your personal growth, self-awareness, and emotional resilience

I can deeply understand your needs. As a therapist, the most important thing for me is for you to understand that you are worthy of unconditional love and acceptance. There are times in our lives when things feel too overwhelming for us to resolve our personal emotional and relationship distress. You may feel pain and sadness during counseling because you are bravely opening vulnerable wounds and then slowly healing them with patience and love. However, the counseling process will quickly become a place where you feel safe, supported, and encouraged. Pain is like a by-product of transformation. Once transformed, we become stronger and more powerful like beautiful butterflies.

"If you feel safe and loved, your brain becomes specialized in exploration, play and cooperation; if you are frightened and unwanted, it specializes in managing feelings of fear and abandonment." - Bessel van der Kolk

I will not provide a direct answer or solution to you, I believe that each person is the expert on their own life. I am here to provide you a warm, non-judgmental, supportive space to explore your feelings, thoughts and options. I will actively listen to your needs, so that we can explore the best direction and solution together.

My first session

The first session will be a good opportunity to let me know more about you and your expectations on the counselling sessions. I will try to understand your emotional state and explore the challenges you may be facing today. We often deal with problems on multiple levels at the same time, so we will discuss together the goals of sessions, the prioritization of issues. Depending on your unique needs, I will evaluate and utilize a variety of treatment techniques to ensure that the counselling process best meets your needs.

Every counseling session is unique, tailored to your individual needs and experiences. However, the cornerstone of our work together lies in building a trusting relationship. Throughout our sessions, we will delve into the complexities of your life, listening to your perspective with empathy and understanding.

While much of our communication will be verbal, we may also incorporate artistic or expressive methods to delve deeper into specific situations and emotions.

Please feel free to drop me an email and ask me about anything that you have read here. We can arrange a 15-minute free call to get to know each other, so that you can know if I am the right counsellor for you.
