About me and my therapy practice

I am an integrative trauma informed therapist ,offering counselling and psychotherapy.  My passion is to assist a person's journey to emotional and psychological wellbeing and bringing positive change and transformation.

I offer Integrative Counselling, & Psychotherapy, Relationship and Couples Therapy, Trauma Therapy, Emotional Freedom Therapy and Clinical Supervision. Offering a safe, non-judgmental space for support, with issues such as depression, anxiety, grief, feeling stuck, low self esteem, unresolved traumas, childhood abuse, work related stress and personal relationships. As well as providing essential support in clinical supervision for students and qualified therapists.

I have a BSc (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy, an Advanced Diploma level 7 in Trauma Therapy, level 5 certificated in Relationship and Couples Therapy and an Advanced Diploma level 7 in Clinical Supervision of both groups and individuals.

I offer a confidential space to explore both challenging and difficult thoughts and feelings in a non judgemental and empathic way.

I believe that every person that comes to see me is unique, so I generally base my practice on each person's needs, whether that is based on negative relationship or life experiences, significant and unresolved traumas, or childhood traumas which are still affecting a person in the here and now.

I also help with issues more associated to present life experiences, such as stress, work place difficulties, family relationships, overcoming separation, or other meaningful losses.

Perhaps you have noticed that you are having difficulties building and sustaining relationships with others. Have little or low self worth, or that you have extreme highs and lows with your emotions. Or perhaps you have negative feelings towards your self.

Whatever it is, I have a great deal of experience to help with all of these issues.

I am a registered member of the BACP and adhere to their ethical frameworks in good practice.

Practice description

My approach is establishing a therapeutic alliance, through deeper listening, open dialogue, reflection and exploration. Creating a safe and confidential space for me to hear your story and for you to voice your concerns, whilst using certain interventions and techniques which help assist and accompany a person to work through and process any difficult or traumatic memories, depressive or anxious thoughts and feelings. And also to help shift any feelings of 'stuckness', or difficulties in being able to make important decisions or life choices.

My aim in the process, is to really help a person build a greater sense of self awareness, and to help understand where the roots of certain issues might be coming from. Mindfully working together through any issues or difficulties, which may have become a stumbling block for any positive change or self development. Therefore, through exploration and dialogue, revealing and enabling a better sense of 'knowing oneself', building self-confidence, self-worth and improving autonomy and power, with an improved ability to make important life choices, as well as embracing the acceptance to overcome, and not just to survive, but to thrive!

My first session

I will ask a few questions in order to get a better understanding of you in the world, and your life experiences. This is important to establish how best we can move forward and work together collaboratively. Being mindful, that there is no rush to speak of certain things that may be difficult for you. This can be done only when you feel safe enough or comfortable to share.

We can assess the best way to work together, whether that be a psycho-therapeutic approach, or a more trauma focused intervention, would be more helpful in reducing any symptoms and bringing about positive changes.

I am also happy to answer any questions that you may have about the counselling process. We can decide and agree together how many sessions are needed, or choose to work more open ended.

There is no commitment to therapy, until this first session has happened and both parties are in agreement to continue working together.
