About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Jane. I am a qualified person centred counsellor working in Preston, and a member of the BACP.
Your well-being is my priority. I understand that seeking therapy can be both courageous and vulnerable and whether you’re navigating anxiety, grief, relationship challenges, or life transitions, I’m here to listen without judgment.
Together, we’ll explore your unique experiences, fears, and aspirations. I’ll create a safe space where you can express yourself freely, knowing that you’re heard and valued.
I work both face-to-face and remotely or a mixture of both if that is preferred.
Practice description
I believe in the power of empathy, unconditional positive regard and genuineness within the therapeutic relationship. I create a safe and non-judgemental space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences freely. I use a person-centred approach to actively support my clients in uncovering their own unique strengths and potential.
My warm and approachable demeanour allows people to feel comfortable in discussing their concerns openly and honestly and I can adapt my counselling style and techniques to meet the unique needs of each client, tailoring my approach to suit their preferred communication.
If you are seeking a supportive and non-judgemental space to explore your emotions, overcome challenges and embrace personal growth, I am here to offer a caring counselling experience to help you thrive.
My first session
Before we start to work together we will have a phone conversation where I will talk to you about what you're looking for and you can ask me anything you wish to know. This will usually last 15-20 minutes. If you decide you would like to go ahead we will agree to an initial 30 minute contact session, which is free. This is an opportunity for us to meet and for you to get a feel for the environment and decide if you feel working with me is right for you.
I will talk through a contract with you that will help in our work together and take some details from you that will be stored securely.
I will also ask what you aim to get from our time together and will work with you to achieve this.
