About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Ashling, a warm, down-to-earth psychotherapist here to help you come back to yourself.

If you’ve been feeling lost after a breakup, stuck in people-pleasing patterns, or unsure who you are outside of your relationships — you’re not alone. Many of the people I work with share a deep sense of disconnection from themselves, often after years of prioritising others or navigating emotional pain.

My work centres around rebuilding self-worth. Whether you’re recovering from a difficult relationship, moving through grief, or just tired of the inner critic that keeps holding you back, therapy with me is a place to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with the parts of you that may have been pushed aside.

Together, we’ll explore the different parts within you, the ones that doubt, protect, strive or soothe, and begin to understand their roles with curiosity and compassion. When we bring awareness to these parts, we can begin to soften the internal conflict and strengthen a more grounded, compassionate sense of self.

I often support people who are navigating:

-Low self-esteem and self-worth

-Co-dependency and people-pleasing

-Emotional overwhelm and inner criticism

-Breakups, grief, and loss of identity or direction

-Feeling stuck, numb, or disconnected from their needs

Practice description

In therapy with me, you won’t be met with judgment, but with honesty, compassion, and a deep respect for your story. Some sessions may feel reflective and slow, others more practical and focused, it’s your space, and we go at your pace.

If something here resonates, I’d love to hear from you. You can reach out for a free 20-minute consultation - no pressure, just a chance to see if we might be a good fit.

My first session

What to expect working with me? Firstly, via email, we will arrange an initial 20-minute consultation. At this meeting, you will have the opportunity to ask me any questions about the way I work and I will find out a little about you and how therapy can help you at this time. Then we can arrange a regular time and day for our sessions going forward.

Starting therapy can bring up mixed feelings and emotions. My aim is to make your first session feel as comfortable as possible, where the session will go at your pace. The first session is a great opportunity to talk about what's brought you to therapy, whilst also getting comfortable talking to a new therapist.
