About me and my therapy practice
Taking the first step to see a counsellor can seem like a big move, particularly if you've never done it before. Maybe you feel more anxious than usual or there is a specific problem that's troubling you? Perhaps you're tired of constantly feeling worried or you would like support with emotional challenges. As your counsellor I will support you to explore your feelings and experiences without judgement but with kindness and understanding.
Practice description
Counselling sessions can be helpful with many issues including...
• Comparing yourself to others; not feeling good enough or difficulties with self-image.
• Struggles to implement change in your life.
• Relationship difficulties - at home, at work or when socialising.
• Bereavement and loss.
• A feeling of anxiety and worry that refuses to go away.
When we have the opportunity to share how we feel in a safe, confidential environment, it can help us gain a better understanding of ourselves and our relationships, as well as helping us develop our true potential to lead a more fulfilling life. I am a fully qualified integrative counsellor (meaning I tailor my approach to best suit your needs) and I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
My first session
What to expect from our first meeting:
Our first meeting is a chance for you to find out about the counselling I offer and for you to tell me a bit more about what brings you to counselling. You can then, in your own time, decide if you would like to work together. We can talk about how many sessions we feel may be useful to start with. I usually meet with my clients weekly.
Our first 20-minute initial chat will be free of charge. Subsequent counselling sessions are 50-60 minutes and cost £60.
What to expect from subsequent sessions:
Our sessions are your space to explore your thoughts and feelings in safety, and, if appropriate, for us to perhaps look at some goals for therapy. If you don't know where to start, that's OK. We can review how we are getting on periodically to ensure that you are getting what you need from our sessions.
