About me and my therapy practice

ABOUT ME

Hello. My name is Jo and I am a qualified integrative Counsellor working with adults face to face and online in the Bath and North East Somerset area.

I have a passion for people and their wellbeing and consider it a privilege to offer them the chance to talk openly about their feelings and to be truly listened to and accepted. I offer a non-judgemental, friendly, compassionate and confidential space where you can be heard and understood as we explore and discuss your troubling issues together at your own pace.

Life's challenges can sometimes feel overwhelming, so whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, loss and bereavement, or something else, counselling offers a trusted and effective path towards positive change and healing. My goal is to help you grow from your struggles and to move towards healing from your pain.

Practice description

MY APPROACH

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on experience from a variety of counselling modalities and theories to best suit a client’s needs, such as Attachment Theory, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, Person Centred, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Gestalt and I also offer creative tools and materials if the client so wishes.

TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

I have a BA (Hons) in Counselling and am a registered member of  the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I adhere to their code of ethics. I engage in continued professional development (CPD) to ensure my knowledge is current and relevant to client needs and I have monthly supervision. I have an enhanced DBS certificate and professional insurance. I am compliant with GDPR regulations and registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

My first session

If you would like to know more about working with me, please contact me either via email or text message without any obligation. We will then arrange a time to have an initial chat where you can briefly tell me your reasons for seeking counselling and you can ask me any questions. If we both feel that working together would be beneficial to you, we will then arrange to commence counselling sessions, either online, on the telephone, or in person at The Engine House at Therapy at the Farm in Stratton-on-the-Fosse where there is ample parking and disabled access.

Counselling sessions last for 50 minutes and cost £50 per session. We will look to find a mutually agreeable time for the counselling to take place. I offer short-term or long-term counselling which includes regular reviews where we can evaluate our work together.
