About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Emily. I’m a British Psychosynthesis therapist and counsellor, working in Amsterdam and online.
I know how hard it is to find the right therapist and I hope I can help you.
My goal as a therapist is to help people live more meaningful and connected lives. I aim to provide a compassionate, safe and non-judgmental space for you to attend to yourself. You may be seeking therapy to deal with your relationships, anxiety, depression, living abroad, burn-out, crisis of meaning and life purpose, or your life in general, to name but a few.
Naturally, our work will be tailored to your needs and desires. We can work on thought patterns or behaviours that don’t serve you anymore. Or we might want to explore earlier experiences or relationships that are keeping you stuck.
I have a holistic, future-focused approach and see the therapist-client relationship as the foundation of good therapy. Together, with mutual respect, confidentiality and compassion, we will work to create awareness, deepen your understanding and bring about transformation. Effective therapy must, in time, lead to tangible improvement in the way we live our lives.
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling (PGDip), which is validated by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherpay (BACP).
I am a Registered Member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy
I also have a BA and MFA in Fine Art.
Practice description
Here's a bit about what to expect with More Than Therapy. We can meet for a free initial video call to meet and see how we might work together. We'll then meet for our first session. Here, I will ask more questions than usual to gather information. By the end of the session, we should know whether we want to work together. If we choose to continue, we will then sign the contract and book a further five sessions. On the sixth session, if it hasn't come up already, we will review our work and see if we want to continue. We'll then continue weekly therapy in an open-ended fashion remaining in conversation about how our work is progressing.

Practice description
What to expect with More Than Therapy
First session – Here, I will ask more questions than usual to gather information. By the end of the session, we should know whether we want to work together. If we choose to continue, we will then sign the contract and book a further five sessions.
Further 5 sessions – On the sixth session we will review our work and see if we want to continue.
Open-ended therapy – We will then meet weekly in an open-ended fashion, remaining in conversation about how our work is progressing.
Cost – 55 minute sessions cost £70. I offer a lower fee to people who need it, so please contact me if this applies to you. You can pay by card during the session or via bank transfer before the session.
