About me and my therapy practice
As an Integrative Therapist and Coach, I blend various approaches from both fields. Therapy focuses on resolving internal conflicts and fostering psychological growth, while coaching is geared towards achieving goals and behavioural change. For instance, therapy might delve into the root causes of a drug problem, whereas coaching targets the behaviour itself. While these approaches have distinct purposes, they can complement each other beautifully.
I draw upon my own life experience and a diverse range of therapeutic modalities, including Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis (TA), Existential, and CBT, while also acknowledging the spiritual dimensions of each individual's journey. The mind-body connection is a central theme in my practice, as experiences and traumas are stored not only in the mind but also in the body, as eloquently put by Bessel van der Kolk: "The Body Keeps the Score."
The integration of these approaches is tailored to each person's unique needs and experiences. The guiding principle in my work is to honour what hurts and what matters most to you.
I spent over five years training in London. First at CCPE and later at the University of East London. During this time, I gained valuable experience at organisations such as the Terrence Higgins Trust, Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest, and Grief in Pieces. Before my training, I enjoyed a fulfilling career spanning a couple of decades in the luxury goods, licensing and merchandising industries, and the third sector.
I offer sessions in London at The Greenhouse Therapy Rooms in Chiswick W4. I can offer online sessions for those who require remote support.
Practice description
Therapy is a unique and deeply personal journey that involves forming a special bond with a trained individual who listens attentively to your innermost thoughts and feelings, unveiling hidden beliefs, patterns, and assumptions that may have eluded your awareness.
As your therapist, I offer a compassionate and nonjudgmental space where you can explore the stories, behaviours, and thought processes that may be holding you back or causing distress. Through our sessions, we can uncover new ways of navigating challenges, guiding you towards healing, growth, and a renewed sense of happiness.
In therapy, we can address a range of difficulties, including feelings of sadness, anxiety, family estrangement, apathy, and self-worth issues. I am dedicated to helping you build self-confidence, self-acceptance, and freedom from self-judgment, recognizing that this journey may feel overwhelming at times.
I approach therapy with a deep respect for each client's unique background and experiences, believing that healing is a fundamental human right. I provide support for various concerns such as depression, anxiety, family conflict, life transitions, and self-esteem issues, among others.
During times when the path ahead may seem daunting or unclear, remember that you don't have to face it alone. I am here to walk alongside you, offering guidance, support, and a safe space for exploration and growth.
My first session
I will listen to your experiences, background, and goals at the beginning of our sessions. If you're unsure of your goals, we can define them together.
My therapeutic approach is supportive, focusing on understanding your past and present to create a more fulfilling future. I believe that our early relationships shape our worldview, and we can heal and grow by examining these influences. While you may feel hesitant about revisiting the past, exploring old patterns can lead to profound insights and transformation.
Together, we will create a safe neuro-affirming space for you to release the burdens of the past and make room for joy, fulfilment, and liberation. Our work will progress at a pace that feels comfortable and beneficial for you as we address your short and long-term goals.
In our sessions, we can address burnout, insecurity, exhaustion, and boundary-setting to help you find relief and empowerment. Therapy is a unique relationship that can foster confidence, hope, and authenticity as you embark on a journey of self-discovery and healing.
