About me and my therapy practice
I am a therapeutic counsellor working from a person centred point of view. This means that I know that I am not the expert in the room and you know yourself best.
I have done other training courses since qualifying in other fields and have extra tools to bring to our sessions. I will help you unravel any chaotic thoughts in your mind and support you through any difficulty you may be going through.
My role is to empower you to believe in yourself and to help you to know that you have the skills necessary to navigate through any challenges. Sometimes self doubt creeps in - either through an event that is present or something that's from the childhood but whatever it is together we can work on that.

Experience
Working with young people from teenage years through to retirement age. I love giving people self belief and helping to raise your self-esteem.
I have lived experience of a life changing health event, (a catastrophic stroke when my baby was 10 days old), it impacted me, my family and friends too.
I know the challenges and rewards of running a business and training people to come up through the business.
I have experience of helping people create new lives when a loss has occurred – this could be retiring and leaving the job, change in life due to an accident or illness or divorce and a change in the family dynamics.
The pressure on young people to perform well in education is huge and unprecedented. Sometimes we underestimate the effect that it's having on our young ones inwardly. To support young people facing exams or school pressure or employment pressure is a field I am passionate about.

I'm a therapist helping you recover from burnout, stress & low self esteem. Are you dealing with depression, anxiety, or wanting non-judgemental support? Are you being bullied at work or school? I see it as a privilege that you share your thoughts with me.
External events will often impact your family life and its often men who find it hard to reach out, I would like to make this easier and get past this "get on with it" attitude, and help you to enjoy your life.
In my previous career I loved working with and inspiring young people, this is still close to my heart. If you are a young person, unsure which direction to take your future, use me to help you find your answers. When you come to see me, you come to a place where you can relax and unload knowing that you are in a safe space.
My experience has been working with people transitioning from working full-time to retirement; people of all ages having self esteem & confidence problems; those ones who haven't yet been able to come to terms with childhood events; those who are overwhelmed by demands on their time or by too many responsibilities; unhealthy family interactions; past regrets and more.
My first session
I offer a free online meeting to talk about what to expect from our first session and for you to see if I am the right fit for you. I would suggest it's a good idea to speak with more than one therapist before you make up your mind.
When you book your first session, I will send you a copy of our working agreement and a pre-therapy form asking for your contact details and why you are seeking therapy at the moment. This gives you an opportunity to reflect on why you're seeking counselling and what you would like to achieve, and me an opportunity to learn something about you
