About me and my therapy practice

Sometimes life becomes overwhelming. You may feel anxious, stuck, low in mood, or uncertain about your direction. Perhaps old patterns are repeating or past experiences are affecting how you live your life now. I offer a warm, compassionate and confidential space to explore whatever feels important — at a pace that feels right for you.

I have a BSc in Psychology and am fully qualified as a Gestalt therapist and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) practitioner. I tend to work with a mix of approaches, depending on what feels most supportive for you. I see therapy as a collaborative process and aim to meet you where you are — whether that’s through gentle reflection, creative exploration, or supporting greater awareness of how your experiences show up in the body.

Gestalt therapy focuses on the here-and-now — how you experience the present moment, including thoughts, feelings and patterns of relating. It encourages awareness, self-connection and experimentation, which can bring insight and new possibilities. This sits well alongside EMDR, which helps the brain reprocess distressing or traumatic experiences in a safe, structured way. Together, these approaches can support meaningful, embodied change — not just in how you think, but in how you feel and respond to life.

I’ve worked in a range of therapeutic settings, including the Watford Women’s Centre, Cruse Bereavement Support, and currently the Hertfordshire Suicide Bereavement Service. These roles have deepened my experience in working with grief, trauma, loss, and the impact of domestic abuse and life transitions. Whether you’re navigating loss, relationship struggles, anxiety, low self-worth or the impact of past experiences, we can explore what’s happening and what might support change.

My aim is to help you feel more connected to yourself, more resourced, and more able to make choices that support your wellbeing.

Practice description

I work with adults of all ages, offering both short and longer-term therapy. Sessions are available face-to-face in Amersham, or online if you prefer or live further away.

My practice is grounded in the belief that every client is unique. I take a relational, flexible and non-judgemental approach — meeting you where you are, whether that’s managing day-to-day struggles or exploring deeper emotional patterns.

Clients often come to me with anxiety, loss, low self-esteem, burnout, trauma or relationship issues. I also have specialist experience in bereavement, suicide loss, domestic abuse, and working with women at transitional life stages.

Therapy with me may include talking through current challenges, making sense of past experiences, or experimenting with different ways of being and relating. When helpful, I draw on body awareness, creativity or EMDR to support your process.

Sessions are 50 minutes and typically weekly, although we can discuss what frequency feels right for you. I offer a free 15-minute call if you'd like to get a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit.

My first session

I offer a free 15-minute introductory call via Zoom or phone. This gives you a chance to ask any questions, share a little about what’s bringing you to therapy, and get a feel for how I work.

The first full session is an opportunity to gently explore what you’d like support with and begin building a therapeutic relationship. I may ask a few background questions to understand your history, but there’s no pressure to share anything you’re not ready for.

There is no formal assessment — we focus on what feels most relevant for you. My aim is to create a calm, respectful space where you feel safe to talk, reflect and be met with empathy. From there, we can decide how to move forward.
