I work full time as a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (Monday to Friday). I also offer evening sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

About me and my therapy practice

I’m an experienced, qualified and fully registered psychotherapeutic integrative counsellor specialising in therapy for individuals and couples.

I care deeply about providing a safe space for the exploration of experiences, feelings and thoughts and rather than meeting you with a singular way of working in mind, my integrative training means I call upon a breadth of well-researched and supported approaches and seek to establish a therapeutic relationship which will enable us to work together, side by side, on what you choose to bring to your sessions.

My approach with couples has been deeply enriched by my training in Gestalt and Systemic modalities. I encourage focus on present-moment awareness and offer curiosity to help you find new ways of being with yourself and your partner, processing difficult emotions to become unstuck and move forward. It is a deeply experiential way of working through your disconnection and conflict in order for you to find space so that you can take steps to find each other again.

I’m passionate that change is possible but equally aware that at the start, many clients don’t feel that way. I see you in the context of your life, appreciating your experiences in mind, body and soul and give as much focus to your past as to your present. I offer a calm and personal approach to help you to observe yourself in new ways, working in a trauma-informed way, prioritising emotional safety and helping you to grow in your awareness, calm your anxieties and develop your own meaningful inner compassion.

Practice description

I attend regular, relevant and high quality CPD opportunities (Continuing Professional Development) with leaders in the field to keep my approach up to date and in line with professional standards.

I work with two highly experienced Supervisors to enrich my therapeutic work, consistently exceeding the supervision minimum requirements of both the BACP and UKCP.

My first session

Our first session begins with introducing ourselves, boundaries and confidentiality and then setting the scene for how we'll work together and what you're hoping to gain from your therapy experience. From there, I'll begin to hear about what has brought you to this point and we'll end with a review of how you're feeling the first session has gone.

Ultimately, our first meeting is a chance for you to see how you feel in the room with me and whether you think it might be a relationship that could work for you.
