How Can Counselling Help?
Through counselling, you can experience meaningful change and growth in your life. Here’s how our work together can help:
- Support you in navigating life transitions so that you can embrace change as an opportunity for personal growth, moving beyond grief or loss and stepping into a more purposeful, fulfilling life.
- Help you reconnect with your true self so that you can make decisions that feel right for you, leading to a life that brings you greater satisfaction and a deeper sense of purpose.
- Equip you with tools to build emotional resilience so that you can confidently face future challenges, trusting yourself to handle uncertainty and adapt to change with greater ease.
Why Work With Me?
In my counselling career, I’ve supported a diverse range of clients - adults in my private practice and in my previous work with a local charity, as well as young people in local schools. Prior to becoming a counsellor, I spent many years in financial services, which gave me firsthand insight into the demands of high-pressure work environments and the toll they can take on mental health and well-being.
However, it was my own experience of profound, unexpected loss that has most deeply shaped my approach to therapy. Rebuilding my life after such a significant change helped me understand the courage it takes to seek help and the emotional toll of navigating life’s challenges. I know what it’s like to face the daunting task of finding a new way forward and adjusting to a life that looks different from what you had planned. This personal journey has given me unique insight into the emotional complexities my clients face during periods of transition, loss, or feeling stuck.
Ready for Change?
Take the first step towards support by reaching out today. Contact me to schedule a free introductory call to explore how we can work together during this challenging time.
My first session
Research shows the quality of the relationship between counsellor and client is central to the effectiveness of the therapy. Therefore, I encourage you to trust your intuition in selecting the counsellor who best suits your needs.
If you decide to work with me, our primary focus will be on establishing a foundation of trust and understanding. We'll begin by discussing what prompted you to seek counselling and explore the challenges or difficulties you're currently facing.
I’ll invite you to share your expectations and hopes for how life might be different as a result of counselling. Understanding your goals and aspirations will help us tailor our therapeutic approach to best meet your needs.
As part of the assessment process, I'll ask you a series of questions to gain deeper insight into your unique experiences, values, strengths, and personal history. These questions may cover various aspects of your life, including your upbringing, family dynamics, past experiences, coping mechanisms, and any significant events or traumas that have shaped your journey.
Throughout our conversation, please feel free to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. Our sessions are a safe and confidential space where you can express yourself openly and honestly, without fear of judgment.
By the end of our first session, my aim is for you to feel heard, understood, and supported on your journey towards healing and growth. Together, we'll embark on a collaborative journey of self-discovery, empowerment, and positive change.
