About me and my therapy practice

I understand how challenging parenting can be, especially when you are concerned about your child's mental health, anxiety, self-esteem or experiences.

I offer a creative, playful environment where children can express themselves using play and creative arts as tools to process their experiences. Alongside therapy sessions, I offer support to carers. Outcomes for children include aiding in recovery from difficult life experiences, improved mental well-being, and increased receptiveness to learning.

I specialise in using therapeutic play and creative arts to promote children's mental well-being and help them explore difficult experiences. Through play therapy, children can express themselves in a safe and accepting environment, work towards understanding their emotions, and make sense of their life experiences. I have 25 years of experience working with children and families in different roles. I utilise a variety of materials such as toys, art supplies, sensory toys, sand, and water beads to aid in the children's process. Materials used are informed by neuroscience to aid emotional regulation and repair negative experiences.

I work with children who have been exposed to trauma, child abuse, domestic violence, parental separation and loss.  I am experienced with neurodiverse children (ASD, ADHD, SPD). I also have experience in working with care-experienced and adopted children. I am registered with Adopt London South as an ASF provider.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a play therapist, working directly with children (aged 4 to 11).

Utilising creative techniques and therapeutic play, a Play Therapist helps children express themselves, work towards understanding their emotions and thoughts, and make sense of their life experiences. I provide Child Mental Health support in an accepting and safe environment where children are helped to develop increased self-awareness and have the freedom to explore and process their emotions and any difficulties impacting them. Materials used include dolls, miniature animals, paint, sensory toys, sand, and water beads to aid children's process.

Play therapy provides an enjoyable space where children can explore and comprehend their emotions through play within an accepting therapeutic relationship. I use sensory materials as it is evidenced to help with emotional regulation as well as helping to repair negative experiences. I have 25 years of experience in working with children and families.
