About me and my therapy practice
I’m a UK qualified psychologist and psychotherapist working with clients online. I’ve changed careers, working in both corporate and non-for-profit sectors in the UK and overseas. My experience of being an expat often helps me relate to those navigating unconventional paths through life.
I provide a professional, evidence-based and integrative approach. I am trained in Person-Centred psychotherapy which prioritizes an understanding of the unique experience and needs of each client.
We may draw upon on my psychological knowledge and training however a fundamental part of the Person-Centred approach, based on empirical research, is that client knows best 'where it hurts'. This means the pace and focus of sessions is set by you and I work flexibly, adapting to your needs.
Practice description
I offer a judgement free, confidential space to explore difficulties in your life and find ways to create change. People often come to therapy to improve their confidence and relationships or to reduce anxiety and depression. Equally valid reasons for seeking therapy include feeling lost, stuck, or wanting things to change but not knowing how, or where to start.
Development of deep self-knowledge allow for flexible and informed change. My role is that of an attentive and compassionate companion, working with you as we navigate and process your experience together.
Connection is everything. Research suggests the largest indicator of successful therapy is not the specific type or the technique used, but the quality of relationship between client and therapist. A sense of connection and feeling safe with your therapist allows for the development of a strong therapeutic alliance and working relationship. This in turn supports authenticity and vulnerability, components that make for profound transformation.
