About me and my therapy practice
Hi there, I'm Catherine, a fully qualified counsellor registered with the BACP. In my work I seek to provide a safe and non-judgemental space where my clients feel they bring their full selves to explore whatever life challenges they may be facing.
Whilst specialising in trauma I work with a variety of different clients with challenges ranging from stress, depression and anxiety to sexual abuse and childhood trauma. Since everyone and our experiences are unique I believe there is no one way to work with my clients. Instead I take an integrative approach using a number of different counselling tools and techniques that I feel will work best with whatever you bring to our sessions together.
The work together is centred whole-heartedly on you and your needs since no two situations or experience of them are ever the same.
Beyond my counselling practice I have of 20 years in the corporate world coaching and developing both individuals and teams through organisational transformation and change. Through that work I have gained a deep appreciation of the impact of change at work and the impact redundancy and retraining (Including my own) has on our lives and sense of self.
Together with my own personal journey this experience has led to a deep appreciation of the many ups and downs that can challenge us on our and that can sometimes block us from living to our full potential.
I am also a Tutor with the CPTA teaching counselling skills to the next wave of counsellors.
In my work I draw on all of these experiences, along with a passion for helping others to realise their full potential, to support my clients in their own journeys in becoming closer to and more confident in themselves so they can live full lives, doing what matters most to them.
If you feel I would be able to help you and want to understand a bit more then please drop me an email or call to arrange an initial 30 minute introduction session.

About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Catherine and I am trained in offering Integrative Person-Centred & Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Counselling.
I work in-person in Reading and Henley as well as remotely, nationwide using telephone and Teams or Zoom.
I welcome clients from all walks of life and with a wide range of issues.
We will work together to try to understand what is at the root of your distress, for issues including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement/loss or relationship difficulties.
Often mental distress can overshadow the enjoyment of every part of life. My aim is to help reduce suffering, to find deeper understanding, to find healthy ways to cope, to place a high value on your mental health and to explore what else might be possible within the constraints of day-to-day life.
Working with adults 16 and over, I also work specifically with trauma and stabilisation post traumatic events.
Why not get in touch to arrange a no-obligation telephone call. This call is designed to see if we may be well suited to working together. I work remotely, so you can fit therapy easily into your life but also have space where if appropriate we can meet in person.
I have a strong belief in our ability to grow and heal as human beings and to overcome life challenge no matter our past.
I offer a non-judgemental space where I will listen deeply and attempt to understand your experience of life, in your words. We will together to build new muscle so you don’t feel alone with your struggles.
If you have any questions or would like more information, please feel free to give me a call or send me an email, I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Practice description
I am trained as an integrative counsellor.
This means I will not coach you or tell you how you should live your life, but instead help you gain deeper self-understanding and help you build the tools necessary to then help you to move forward.
We will use what's facing you in your every day life today, surfacing learned patterns of behaviour and past experiences that may be holding you back or adding to your challenges. Bringing them to our awareness together and finding new solutions that help you to live a more fulfilled and happier life.
My aim is to help you to uncover the root cause of your problems. By doing this, over time we don't have to work so hard at finding coping mechanisms, to deal with symptoms of unprocessed pain. You can feel lighter, empowered and less afraid, moving forward.
