About me and my therapy practice
As an integrative counsellor, I can draw on many different theories and modes of working. This means I am able to adapt the way I work to fit you. I mainly work from a person centred approach, which means our sessions will be focused on you and what you want to bring to them. I believe you are the expert in you and therefore I will provide a safe and confidential space where you can truly be yourself, without fear of judgement or expectations and demands being put upon you. Together we will explore any issues, feelings, beliefs, behaviours and world views so you can become self-aware and enable you to trust your own judgements. I am interested in hearing about you and your experiences, how the important relationships and events in your life have shaped you. I will listen to you with openness, empathy and compassion and support you through the counselling process. I will work with you to reflect and explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours so you can develop a better understanding of yourself and your relationships. Sometimes our old behaviours and ways of being no longer serve us. By gaining an awareness and deeper understanding of those, now, unhelpful patterns of behaviour we can gain a greater sense of freedom, choice and possibility.
Practice description
I offer a 50 minute session once a week at a prearranged and agreed time, usually the same each week. This can be in person, online or by telephone. These sessions are focused around you and any issues or concerns you may wish to bring. I offer a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. We will work together to deepen our understanding of yourself and the issues that have brought you to seek counselling.
I offer short and long term counselling.
My first session
If you decide to get in contact, the first step would be for us to arrange an initial free 20 min telephone conversation. This is an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have, for me to find out a little more about your reasons for wanting counselling and to give you further details about how I work and what I offer as a counsellor. There is no pressure to commit to continuing as the most important thing is that you find a counsellor who is right for you. If we do decide to work together, we can arrange a time for our regular weekly sessions.
