About me and my therapy practice

I offer counselling using the TRTP (The Richards Trauma Process) and usually offer 5 sessions, some of which I allow a 2 hour window. The first session is an introductory session and allows the client to get to know me, and vice versa. We then proceed to teh TRTP process. This process uses guided imagination and helps client to unlock the past safely, without re-traumatizing them. I mainly offer counselling via zoom, but I can see clients in person if they are prepared to travel.

TRTP is an Australian modality and we are seeing some amazing results. I mainly work with PTSD, anxiety and depression, helping clients to unlock their Unconcious Core Beliefs to find inner peace and calm. Stopping the video loops running in their heads, helping clients to know that they are safe now, putting the past into the past.

One client wrote: "I have PTSD and I have tried CBT, EMDR and TRTP and if I had to describe the difference between these three treatment modalities, I would say CBT targets the conscious mind, EMDR targets both the conscious and unconscious mind somewhat effectively, while TRTP targets only the subconscious mind and does so effectively. Trauma in my experience is like a virus infecting a laptop, if it infects 1 or 2 programs, then all you need to do is un-install those programs and then reinstall them and that is what CBT and EMDR do, but what happens if the virus infects the entire operating system? What is now your laptop works but glitches often, what do you do? You need to format the laptop and install a new operating system, and that is what TRTP does."

It's an exciting modality which has been going in Australia for over 10 years, and research and results are still ongoing..  please feel free to message me and ask more about it.. and look it up on both my website and their website.

I have just returned from attending the TRTP Masterclass in Brisbane, which was an exciting and intense session! More to come..

Practice description

I have been working as a TRTP practitioner since 2019. I was attracted to the modality as my ex-husband had complex PTSD . I did not know how to help him, but we did try many different treatments, nothing worked.

Then I found TRTP. Too late to save my marriage, but it has given me a wonderful process to help my clients gain clarity for their lives.

I have also worked as a nurse, having trained in London. From there I moved to Hong Kong and worked amongst refugees from Vietnam, and lived in the refugee camp for 4 years. I also worked with St Stephens society helping heroin addicts to change their lifestyle and find new meaning for LIFE! After that I moved to Australia and then went on to become an Emergency nurse. I worked in Logan Hospital in Brisbane for over 18 years. The emergency department grew to covering over an acre of land, and was treating a diversity of patients, including adults, paediatrics and mental health patients.

Over the years I have gained experience working in the UK, Hong Kong, Pakistan and Australia.

My first session

In the first session we will discuss whether TRTP is suitable, or just talking therapy...

We will do an assessment and will review that in the third TRTP session.

My clients are often surprised at how easy this session is, and fun!
