About me and my therapy practice
Taking steps to find a counsellor and finding the right therapist for you is very individual. I offer a free 20 minute introduction session (in person or online) so you can experience the way I work, before deciding whether to start counselling with me.
As a fully qualified and BACP registered Counsellor, my therapy sessions are centred around you. My approach is integrative, but Person-Centred at its core. I work with a diverse range of clients and have a special interest in and experience of Autism and ADHD.
My mission is to give you a confidential space where you feel heard, understood and validated. To support your well-being and create a space for positive change, at your pace, in your way.
Being person-centred means I offer a non-judgemental, non-directive but empathic and supportive space for my clients to explore the thoughts and feelings they would like to.
I believe building a trusting therapeutic relationship enables clients to explore the issues they choose and find clarity and resolve that they may need.
I have experience working with anxiety, depression, life-altering or life-limiting illnesses, neurodivergence, personality disorders, trauma, sexual abuse, relationship issues, self-esteem and self-worth issues, bereavement and living grief as well as a whole range of other experiences that life may bring.
Research shows that truly listening to clients and understanding each unique perspective, without judgement can lead to increased self-esteem and self-worth, self-directed change and an increased sense of well-being.
I hold a current Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate (DBS).
