About me and my therapy practice
Are you ready to take that first step towards healing. I aim to provide a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings. Life can challenge us and it can be beneficial to pause and take care of ourselves. Are you experiencing a difficult time or feel like you've reached a crossroads in your life? Maybe you have experienced a traumatic event, a bereavement, or feel anxious.
I am an integrative counsellor, which means that from a person centred foundation, I can use other skills to tailor each session to your specific needs. I take a non-directive approach alongside you and at a pace that is right for you. The most important thing is that you feel safe and supported and that we can work together in a way that feels right for you. I am a registered member of the BACP and have the training and experience to help you explore your issues in a safe, supportive, non-judgemental space. I have experience in counselling individuals with anxiety, bereavement, trauma, addictions and self harm. I also have experience within domestic/sexual abuse support.
Before becoming a counsellor I worked for 20 years within the health and social care sector where I gained experience supporting elderly clients and their families through difficult times. This included health diagnoses such as dementia and anticipatory grief.
I work with individuals 18yrs+ and concessions are available, please contact me for details.
Practice description
If you are not sure if counselling is right for you, I offer a free 20 minute chat over whereby/google meet or phone call. This will give you the chance to ask me questions and explore if you feel comfortable with me as your counsellor. There is no obligation to commit to sessions after our chat, its just a chance for you to see if it feels right for you.
If you decide to go ahead, I offer a variety of ways to meet to suit your busy lifestyle:
- Online session: via whereby/google meet at a time to suit you from the comfort of your own home.
- Telephone call: at a time that suits you.
- Walk & Talk: at a prearranged location, weather permitting.
My first session
Counselling is an investment in yourself, and its one of the most important investments you can make. This why I offer a no obligation 20 minute consultation free of charge, so that you have the opportunity to find out if working with me feels right for you.
I offer concessions for counselling students so please call or email me for more details.
During our first session we will look at the counselling agreement (a written document covering our terms of working together). This will take approximately 10 minutes and then we can explore what has brought you to counselling and any goals/expectations. Each session will last for 50 minutes.
