Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting, but it's also a courageous move toward healing and growth.
I'm Danny Grundy, a BACP-registered counsellor based in Coventry. I offer face-to-face and online sessions via Zoom, providing a safe, confidential space where you can explore what's going on for you without judgment or pressure.
I specialise in addiction and trauma-informed therapy and have a strong background supporting survivors of rape and sexual abuse. My approach is person-centred, meaning I work alongside you at your pace, helping you reconnect with your sense of self and begin healing from the deep impacts of trauma.
If you're unsure whether therapy is right for you, a short, no-obligation call can often help to answer your questions and give you a feel for how I work. I'm happy to talk things through — there's no pressure to commit.
About me and my therapy practice
My approach is collaborative — you're always in charge.
I'm here to walk alongside you, not to fix or direct you. Together, we explore what’s getting in the way of the real you — your authentic self.
The part of you that existed before responsibility took over… before the trauma, the heartbreak, the grief, the pressure to be everything for everyone else.
I believe healing starts by reconnecting with that part of you — and you don’t have to do it alone.
Practice description
I offer a warm, down-to-earth counselling service for adults who are struggling with trauma, addiction, abuse, grief, or simply feeling lost or overwhelmed. Whether you're facing something new or carrying pain from long ago, therapy can be a place to stop, breathe, and reconnect with yourself.
I'm a BACP-registered therapist based in Coventry and Nuneaton, offering both in-person and online sessions via Zoom. I specialise in trauma-informed therapy, addiction recovery, and supporting survivors of rape and sexual abuse. My approach is person-centred, which means you set the pace, and we work collaboratively — you're always in control.
I also offer walking or movement-based therapy in peaceful, natural settings, which can be helpful if a traditional therapy room feels too intense or unfamiliar.
Together, we create a safe space to explore your story, without judgment or pressure. I don’t offer quick fixes or advice — I offer presence, care, and consistent support as you work through what’s difficult and start to reconnect with the parts of yourself that may feel lost or silenced.
Many of the people I work with have spent years pushing down their feelings to survive. In therapy, they finally find space to speak openly and be heard. Sometimes, healing starts simply by not having to go through it alone.
If you're unsure about therapy, you're welcome to contact me for a brief, no-obligation call. I’m happy to answer any questions.
My first session
The first session is free and lasts around 60 minutes via Zoom.
It’s a chance for us to meet and begin exploring what’s brought you to therapy. You don’t need to commit or pay anything upfront — this session is simply about helping you get a feel for me and how I work, and deciding whether you'd like to go further.
During this session, we’ll talk about what you’re hoping for from therapy, as well as any fears or expectations you might have. We’ll also go over key points like confidentiality, boundaries, and what the counselling process typically involves — all at your pace, with plenty of space for questions.
It’s informal and collaborative. Some people bring a lot to the first session, others just want to get to know the space — both are completely fine.
