About me and my therapy practice

My approach is gentle and compassionate and I work to provide a safe and confidential space for each person without judgement. I understand that starting therapy can be daunting and I am attentive to welcoming clients at their own pace.

I am experienced in supporting clients who are navigating complicated times. Often we can find that old strategies are not serving us in our current circumstances. It can be helpful to examine this with someone else and think about our options for change. I have worked with people experiencing a wide variety of situations and challenges, including bereavement, relationship issues, low self-esteem, trauma, self-harm, work life difficulties, and family issues, including sibling dynamics and parenting.

My practice is inclusive to all, including but not limited to, neurodivergent people (regardless of whether you have a diagnosis) or people wondering about this for themselves, all gender identities, sexual orientations and practices, and relationship structures, as well as racial, cultural, and spiritual identities, different age groups, people with disabilities, and class backgrounds. I recognise the importance of providing a therapeutic space to celebrate and affirm lived experiences and to acknowledge and process the difficulties that might also arise. I am actively committed to exploring my own privilege and blind spots, both inside and outside the consulting room, by educating myself through seeking out relevant reading, training, and listening to others.

I am BACP registered and have a postgraduate diploma in Psychodynamic Practice. I am fully insured and DBS checked, and work in both private practice and the charity sector. I attend regular supervision as part of an ethical practice.

Practice description

I work face-to-face on a weekly basis with clients, both short-term and long-term.

My approach is psychodynamic, which means that we consider together what might be happening for you both consciously and unconsciously. By thinking together, we can identify root causes and patterns that might be contributing to your current difficulties, as well as valuing your lived experience and the realities of your life.

My first session

I initially offer a free 20 minute phone call to see what you are looking for. If you would then like a first session, we can arrange a 50 minute session to see if we would like to work together longer term.
