About me and my therapy practice
I'm a psychodynamic psychotherapist offering open-ended therapy in Brighton and Hove.
I work with people from all kinds of backgrounds who are experiencing emotional difficulties and particularly those who are having issues in their relationships at home or work.
I take a psychodynamic approach to therapy, which involves working in an exploratory way to understand the root cause of your feelings, with a particular focus on the relationship between the therapist and client. The therapy itself creates a new relationship where anxieties, emotions and fears can be privately explored and understood in a safe and contained way.
Psychodynamic therapy is based on the psychoanalytic theory that our childhood and early experiences influence our thoughts, feelings and behaviours in the present. Alongside helping you to address psychological and emotional challenges, I can work with you to help you understand yourself on a deeper unconscious level to find more clarity and acceptance.
Before training as a therapist, I worked with service users within a mental health charity for those experiencing depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts.
